The Truth Is Still Out There: X-Files Returning

It has to be more plot driven. There’s only 6 episodes IIRC. More of a miniseries than anything else.

Gimme dat MOTW every time. I’m on some Grimm, and the over-reaching sub-plot is getting on my nerves. The WOTW (Wessen Of The Week) is more interesting, fuck Adalind and her baby.

I quit Grimm mid way through season 3. couldn’t take it the bad acting and no answers. Monroe was my favorite part of that show.

I wonder if the X-Files reboot will have the same feel as before or if they’re going to modernize it.

If you do that would be really handy. I skipped the ones suggested for season one then releasized there was a bunch of stuff that made no sense. Like when did Mulder learn about the blue light signal to call Deep Throat. Scully is pretty much a believer now. At the beginning of season 2 the assistant director shows up but with no real introduction so I’m guessing he may have been introduced in an episode I didn’t watch.

Scully was forced into the believer role because it was pivotal to counter-react John Doggett’s skepticism via the storyline, even by Season 6 she still was basing proofs off scientific research and denying the existence of extraterrestrial life. She still doubts any indication to William having alien physiology.

The early monster of the week epds are solid enough. Then around Season 8 they got kinda corny like a Vampire Bat or Indian Kid, the Soul Eater from The Gift was pretty interesting though.

I really hated Agent Reyes, wasteful and unnecessary character. Doggett seemed to grow on me after S8 was done.

It’s only going to be 6 epds so it will probably return as being a cult show entertaining only the most loyal fans to the conspiracy

If they’re smart, they would use those 6 episodes to promote a new team of FBI agents looking into shit like this.

Reyes wasnt so bad but I’m partial to women who smoke.

I mean the whole conspiracy with Mulder’s sister was never really explained too well. So the government kidnapped a girl and cloned her because? They could easily have said she had some abilities or something that made her desirable to clone. Now this is from memory, but I also looked online and it didn’t seem like they really ever explained it, if I am wrong I am sure someone in the thread will let me know. I know I watched at least to season 4.

I’m on Season 3 now, it seems that Fox was the original subject but then his father gave up his sister because he loved him more than her lol.

Samantha wasn’t kidnapped at all, she turned over as part of the cloning experiment done by the aliens in exchange for the alien fetus obtained by the Syndicate. The colonization date had already been predetermined, so high ranking government officials (the Syndicate) used whatever means necessary in order to survive the day of reckoning and assisted the aliens with their experiments.

Bill Mulder was a reluctant member because he distrusted the aliens, and because he felt the asking price for the alien fetus in exchange for family members of the Syndicate were way too much. Scientist had no other means of studying alien physiology and surviving the onslaught, so he gave in eventually and turned Samantha over. Ideally, this action would allow him to protect Agent Mulder if a vaccine was created in order to combat the Black Oil, which the Russians eventually had achieved.

where can i read all the backstory in chronological order?

Wiki tries its best to break down each season, also the X-Files movie occurred sometime between the ending of Season 5 and the beginning of Season 6

Mid way through season 5, I think I’ve found my favourite episode, it’s called Bad Blood. Shit is too funny.
It would be a very typical episode if it weren’t written from the perspective of Scully, so Mulder is like a child who has just downed a can of Redbull :joy:
Then it changes to Mulder telling the same story from his perspective, Scully is a such an ass to him lol.

one of my favs too, absolutely classic!

On the season 5 finale, I’ll be watching the first X Files movie tonight.

From the wiki on the Mini series

Spoiler

Prior to filming, Carter explained that he had “ideas for every [character]” and that the series would strive to tell fresh stories in a “very new political environment”.[19] He explained that, since the conclusion of the series, he had been collecting noteworthy news stories for future use. Carter also revealed that the miniseries’ plot will have no connection to the Season 10 comic book series, and will be composed of both mythology episodes, as well as standalone “Monster of the Week” episodes.[19] It was later revealed that each writer would direct his own episode, with the first episode being penned and helmed by Carter.[28] The second episode is titled “Home Again” and is written and directed by Glen Morgan, and is believed to be a sequel to the fourth season episode, “Home”.[29]

They still look great together heh

I hope they do the opening from Seasons 1-7, although 8 is probably my favorite of them all

The Lone Gunmen will be back!

(Wow, I feel dirty for clicking on anything related to Entertainment Weekly.)

Still, it was interesting to learn that a) there were season-10 comics at all and b) their deaths had already been revealed (read: probably retconed) there to have been faked. I’m totally fine with that.
