Anyone notice

I had recently unlocked Joe and paired him with Ken. In Arcade mode the pair keeps meter from previous fights while Joe’s health increases from where it left off. Anyone know about this or anything like it in the game?

Finally got the basic variation of the shuriken feather bnb down
sheds tears of joy

some stuff from some notes ive been taking:

  • autoguard on 236C is not instant, but is still relatively fast. i’d estimate the autoguard to start on the 3rd frame or so

  • startup on the 63214 counter move i estimate to be around 6 frames; active window also about 6 frames

  • comboing off of his counter prorates the entire combo by about 50%; doing counter -> ryu assist -> 3C -> shuriken B&B into super only does about 14.3b damage

  • using baroque during a counter combo does not remove the 50% damage proration

  • the counter grabs lows, mids, but not projectiles, assists and supers

  • cannot baroque the counter on whiff

  • no perceptible difference between A/B/C counters

  • after j.623 gun attack, you have access to all your options except airdash; you have to double jump to regain your ability to airdash

  • j.623 attack can be performed twice per jump

  • testing strongly points to stronger versions of the j.623 attack having slightly slower startup; probably an additional 1 frame of startup for each button strength

  • tekkaman, soki and giants cannot crouch under shurikens

  • shurikens can be used to cancel all special moves except for the counter

  • random factoid, shurikens can whiff cancel VARs

  • 236 shuriken super will not activate the final hit unless at least 3 shurikens from the second volley hit the opponent

  • if the air version of the shuriken does not connect, condor teleports down to a point just above the ground. he is actually free to move at that point and can attack on the way down, making this super relatively safe

Doing the shuriken BnBs with Joe is such a pain in the ass to me. I set my (Gamecube) L and R to Weak and Strong, but I still am not very good at it. I really like Joe too, but doing this one combo is so hard for me. ={

Oh, and I don’t know if anybody tried this, but I tested using Joe’s C~Battering Ram for combos. With the training dummy, Ryu, set to auto guard, I was able to C~Battering Ram > dash > 2A >5B > 3C launch > air combo. I am not too sure on which parts of the combo, after the 2A, are necessary for getting the opponent into position for an air combo, but mine worked, I guess. Also, I am not too sure about how far the opponent needs to be from the wall. As far as I remember, doing C~Battering Ram close to a corner only made things easier, as they’d bounce right next to you. Otherwise, from across the screen, or a little bit midscreen, I was able to dash 2A into the combo.

you can always combo off of C-battering ram no matter screen position, although I just do 5B->3C, I imagine an extra 2A will actually lower damage.

I’m trying to come up with a meter less combo.
I got some stuff for his Battering Ram you can go into his shurriken juggle from the combo. I didn’t complete the juggle but pfft you can do that your self lol. I didn’t add the Battering Ram but it will combo for you and some reason with Ippatsuman the combo reset but you still keep your BBQ. Sorry for the 30% I’m a noob…:stuck_out_tongue: but ya you can alter this combo to fit your needs.

Im trying to get the longest corner combo possible with chun assist, so until now Ive got this:

2a, 5b, 2b, 5c xx A battering ram, late chun assist, jump j.b xx C shurikens, air dash, late j.b xx A shurikens, j.b, land, jump, j.b xx A shurikens, air dash, j.b xx C shurikens xx B savage shot, j.b, jump, j.b xx A shurikens, air dash, j.b xx C shurikens xx B savage shot, BRQ, j.b xx A shurikens, air dash j.b, jump j.b xx A shurikens, late air dash j.b xx A shurikens xx B savage shot xx C shurikens xx B savage shot xx Condor Magnum/Science team Tornado fighter.

I cant think of anything longer now and im tired, Ive been doing this the whole afternoon, if anyone can contribute that would be really appreciated.

I don’t know if this would work but a good way to connect Joe’s assist is using it in specific combos with certain characters which launch the opponent a bit. For example using Ken’s Light bird shot allows Joe’s Savage shot to hit and Ken ends up going behind the opponent for more combo opportunities. Other then an anti-air it has some uses in combos with specific characters.

Ken/Joe combo:
5a, 5b, 2b, 5c, A Bird Shot, Joe’s assist, dash, 5a, 5a, 5b, 5c, Launch, j.a, j.a, j.b, j.b, A Bird Shot, Hyper Bird Shot.

Takes out about half the opponents life I believe. Obviously this is a basic combo but you guys can modify it.

Also it seems that you can connect Ken’s level 3 right after Joe’s assist, since you’ll be in the perfect angle while the opponent is stunned and falling down.

Ken/Joe combo:
5a, 5b, 2b, 5c, A Bird Shot, Joe’s assist, God Phoenix Kick.

There is a trick to this combo though, you have to wait for the combo to reset until Joe’s assist. So technically what will happen is on the 8th hit when Ken lands his
Lvl 3 (the kick which starts the cinematic animation, before he summons his phoenix), the combo meter resets thus allowing for full damage off Ken’s Lvl 3. Takes out a LOT of health, more then 3/4th when I tested it on Ryu.

I’ve been trying forever to figure out ways to combo into mutiple feathers during an air raid, but I couldn’t stay up long enough. What version of the gun shot do you use for that combo?

Also, numeric notation is as follows:

Look at your keyboard’s number pad:
7 8 9
4 5 6
1 2 3

Now think of it as directions on a pad or stick:
:ub::u::uf: 7 8 9
:l:N :r: 4 5 6
:db::d::df: 1 2 3

So a simple QCF (:d::df::r:) would be 236, because that’s what you’d press on your keypad to pull that move off if that were your pad.
