vampire savior SHOULD be on the list.
no game is balanced, but Savior has the tightest tier list. the low tier characters have a viable chance against/midtop. The gaps between character playability is stupid small. It is old, and yet STILL running in tournies in japan. this is a testemate to the integrity of the balance/gameplay of the game. ST and only a few other games have this kind of longevity

edit: to gbursine - do you have a tier list that is different from the one posted on page 1? if so please post it with explanations for why the 8-2 matchups on the first tier list are, in your opinion, wrong or irrelevant. I’m more than happy to put vampire savior back on the list (where it would be currently tied for #3 spot) once there is significant rebuttal to that first list.
I don’t care about your tier list really. its is subjective opinion sampling an obscenely small number of people to have any credit.
I give you objective facts. iterpret them however you want. tierlists are always subject to change. games evolve. developers are not perfect. The integrity of games generally speak for themselves based on their player base.

There is a difference between a game like SF and a game like Vampire Savior. A 7-3 or 8-2 matchup in vampire savior is not what you think it would be in street fighter. Tool set, tool set, tool set. SF, you have very few tools so when you encounter a bad matchup, there is very few things you can try to retool your game around. Now in VS, there are so many universal mechanics combined with character mechanics that even if you get 1 of them taken away, there is 10+options you could use to stop that. This is why games like AH\GG are also balanced, because the game actually has more than hadoken\shoryuken\footsie.
over the last 4 years in Japan in a game where they have been playing it tourney hard for 16, there has been 4 different low tier characters in the top 4. Do you realize how many games are that balanced after 14 years? the worst characters are placing top 8 consistently and that isn’t even the case with sf4 after 3 years. Also, it was only like 2-3 years ago that victor placed 2nd @ the hardest tournament in Japan. FUCK YOUR TIER LIST.

The only people I see complaining about VS tiers aren’t VS players, that’s not a coincidence either. All the people have put serious time into this game understand how balanced it is.
I believe it would be Vampire Saviour, Guilty Gear Accent Core, Virtua Fighter 4 EVO, Tekken 6 and X-Men VS. Street Fighter.
And the reason you don’t see me in the VSav rooms is because I can’t connect to a game. I’m not gonna spend 3 hours in a room to MAYBE connect to one game where I’ll probably be thrashed within 3 seconds since 95% of the room is good at the game, to which they’ll just leave.

marvel super heroes is the most balanced fighting game ask SpiderDan. The tier list doesnt even really matter at all, and, of course you can make a come back once you get a gem. I know VF 4 is balanced dont know about the others, I wouldnt say Xmen vs Street fight is balanced mostly cause of storm run away is worse then mvc2 storm run away.

Also, nothing wrong with compiling a list like this so that down the road someone can say “i like super street fighter 4 because it’s balanced, I wonder what else I can play where I don’t have to worry about broken characters”. it doesn’t hurt anyone, and might help get exposure to some lesser played games.
you’re right though, about the fact that if people just name games they like this won’t work. but if someone is just naming shit they like, then another poster can try and dispute the placement and if the game truly is broken, enough people will speak up (with some evidence) and then it can get disqualified for having too many 7-3 or 8-2 matchups.

vSAv is balanced, but it is hard as hell. To get around your matchups, mastery of the game is required. I play Jedah, so I got some obstacles. It’s hard, but not impossible. For reasons stated above, I don’t think that Vsav is one of the top 5. It is possible to get around bad match-ups, but the amount of mastery you have to have over the game tactics is a huge curve, only then will you be overcoming bad matchups.
Sorry shoultz, that is how I see it.
I’d say the same applies to good matchups too though, they don’t really feel that much in your favor unless you really know the matchup or are playing sasquatch.
