I seem to remember with Turtles you could throw a meaty fireball in the corner, walk up throw, repeat.

Dunno about command throws. I know a well timed move with I frames can get out of the trap.

âŚppfftt come on, guy. This thread would never leave pg1 if we had something like that. The built-in ZSNES netplay is ass but there was a client RiotingSoul and I were using to make it less so (CGA or some shit). Even then itâs still kinda meh.
If JeRon shows at NEC, then you can bet thereâs a good chance a TF tourney will go down.
Aska just has to close in once with Hip Check or Spin then go to town on the RPS. War has no reversals, no rapid fire normals to push her out, cant jump out safely if heâs read with a DP- he just has to sit there and take the mixup and hope to block a dp then âpunishâ with a st.HK or st.LP+LK at best. War can fend off aska to some extent though with his normals (far st.HP/st.HK and chargeB,F+LP) but all it takes is for one of those to whiff and aska happens to jump in at the right time or uses HipCheck/Spin then itâs back to blocking. Warâs LP+LK is ok for anti-air vs aska but the damage is low and it can be unreliable at times.
War = Poor
His âbestâ match up imo would be vs WNut. The height and speed of his jump allows him to maneuver around fireballs fairly well and because of WNuts lack of reversals and slow jump start up, War can press him pretty well before WNut can shake him off.

Yes, ANY meaty fireball that is guarded will GUARANTEE you a throw after. There is no opportunity to reversal in between the guarded fireball and the throw as youâre being thrown from guardstun (lol). The best way to avoid thisâŚdonât blockâŚseriously. Taking the hit reduces the speed dramatically and inputs seem to go out of the window making options like: meaty fb (âhey, Iâll just sweep him if I see him take the hitâ), cr.HK EXTREMELY difficult to do. Youre other option is to reversal the fireballâŚAssuming your character has one. If not, you gotta âmixupâ (lol) taking the hit and guarding to throw the opponent off. :lame:

I mean, only three people showed in the netplay channel I started and Gonzales is the only one holding down an IRL scene atm. The game gets played for its nostalgic value for the most part and people donât seem inclined to push the competitive play to itâs limits (like NYC did at one point lol). But you canât really blame them cusâŚ

yeah youâre totally right, Turtles has had no hype forever. Itâs just the SRK poster game for the ONE title that is 99% universally agreed upon is/was brilliant and is/wasânt played anywhere near enough in tournament.

*Itâs not as simple as say doing a jump attack then throwing them from guardstun. Although this IS technically possible as the AI has done this to me a few times with the ninja turtles (jump in SUPER DEEP HK, [guaranteed] throw). Also CShred and Arm are the only characters that I know can in fact set this up simply by doing jump early LP, land and throw.
Guess what Iâm trying to say is that this guaranteed throw setup has some kind of trick to it that involves throwing the opponent from hitstop. When I was messing with SNES9Xâs frame advancement it seemed that the opponent was vulnerable to throw in the first 8 frames or so when entering guard stun (need to sit down with this again really). Fixing this issue of no throw protection would increase the play value of TF ten-fold and imo would place it on par with (if not better than lol) ST.
*TF has âreversalsâ. Assuming the move you reversal with has invincibility, you can reversal meaty attacks, meaty fireballs, a tick throw attempt, a gap in fireball string and so forth. But if your referring to reversing those guaranteed throws, itâs not happening. Once you guard, thatâs that; you get thrown.

Can use jump HP (while ascending) for an instantaneous overhead hit that will smash crouching opponents. I think I mentioned this sometime ago and I may have mentioned that CDome can also jump cancel his crouching LP and crouching LK on hit/guard.
Now as we know, CDomeâs LP throw redizzy setup will only work on War and the Ninja Turtles but he can still make use of the setup vs others.
e.g.
LP throw (hold jump), deep HP (guarded), land, jump HP (instant overhead)
or
LP throw (hold jump), deep HP (guarded), land, cr.LKx1~3, jump cancel HP (instant overhead)
Now if you had scored some prior attack damage, itâs likely you can score a stun/dizzy off of the instant overhead in this situation. Also the latter setup is extremely difficult to block as it acts like a two-in-one into the jumping HP. Plus CDome can continue a low attack string (preferably a low CPS chain) to really mix things up.

Can also use ascending attacks for instant overhead properties. His jump neutral LP will hit all characters while his jump HP will strike a crouching CShred. And like CDome, WNutâs crouching LKâs can be jump canceled on hit/guard.

Hover jump HK, crouch LKx1~2 (all guarded), jump forward HP

hey was up people i ran a TF tourney at gameunicon anybody who was there knows me as the loud guy who got more hype for TF than ST:HD. We had 22 people enter while ST:HD only had 12. Unfortunatly my camera died so i dint get a chance to record any matches. I dont have my friends laptop on me but from the top of my head results were:
