I love how Mumm-Ra is practically identical to his original design from the old show (“if it ain’t broke” and whatnot). My only real complaint is that my current situation may prevent me from catching every single episode on TV, I just gotta hope I can catch the episodes I miss on YouTube.

Most cartoons (and television in general) don’t hold my attention, but I actually took the time out to watch the season premiere. Can’t wait to see more…although I fear it could get canned for looking so promising.
What’s with the fear of cancellation? CN isn’t Fox. I’ll be more worried if this series goes into a long hiatus like Young Justice

Samurai Jack was never officially cancelled. Even then, it had a 52 episode run over four seasons. It’s about what you’ll expect for a modern cartoon to last. Never heard of Symbiotic Titan so someone needs to fill me in there. I’ll give you Megas
SymBionic Titan was Genndy’s latest animated series, this time being about the mecha genre. It’s a very fun show which various references and shoutouts to Tokusatsu, mecha and anime in general. One of the characters’ clothes resembles Alucard from Hellsing.
One thing I didn’t like about the kittens: Kat was reading his lines in the same tone he used when talking to Kit during the festival throughout the whole ep, despite the kittens’ situation when that shelter they left was bombed. Total contrast from the terrified look on his face (but that’s what you usually get when you use really young kids rather than annoying, gravel-voiced women like in the dbz dub). All the kids employed by Nelvana back in the 90’s for their animated shows were way better at expressing distress, fear, anxiety, and a wide range of other emotions…but maybe this kid will become better and show more range as the show runs.

I hope Cartoon Network sticks with this show. CN has some serious ADD when it comes to premiering and sticking with cartoons!

Wow very impressed with the new version. I was hoping that they started from the destruction of thundera though. The planet was third earth wasnt it? They’ve took some short cut with the introduction of the story…
Just saw it and it absolutely bad ass!!! seriously 9/10 would buy again. I grew up watching the 80s version and IMO this is much better. I usually hate the modern versions of older cartoons but this one was awesome.
anyone catch the Lynx-O cameo? Hope we get to see pumyras hot ass soon too, though get the feeling Cheetarahs hotness is more than enough for most people.
Loved the way the changed Tigrah, was a bit of a boring character in the 80s imo and now he actually serves a purpose. Also loved how they changed Snarf, he changed from being annoying as fuck to actually really cute and adorable. Loved snarf!
The only negatives are not enough panthro, but obviously its the first episode so that was to be expected.
I hope they keep the kingdom though and the team arent the only thundercats left in the series. I didnt like that in the 80’s, the fact it was just the thundercats and no citizens which is probably why the comics were so bad ass.
Btw, was it me or when Lion-O did the “thunder, thunder, thundercats” bit, they used the original voice? just before he says Hoooo.

No, the Thunder, Thunder, Thunder wasn’t the original Lion-O/Claudus. Its was just Will Friedle doing awesome voice work (as he always does).
Just watched it again… they are on Thundera… i wonder how long before the story develops before the planet goes boom?.. if the planet goes boom that is… Jaga and his clerics = win. Grune w/lex luther voice assist is great as well… not as gruff as the original but meh.
Go back and listen to the very first line spoken in the series.
