The term "Anime Fighter"

No, I’m trying to be serious here, there’s something to how the whole game flows. They just FEEL good. Anime games don’t do that for me.

Skullgirls kinda does, maybe it’s animation related? I don’t know!

What game is that? Looks really smooth.

Shin Koihime Musou Arcade Edition. From what I’ve seen it plays like a SF5 would play if modern Capcom didn’t make it.
No comeback mechanics, no links, 2 in 1’s, super bar is for super and assists of choice (cost 1/4 bar), and for the new kids who like flashy combos you have a fatal counter system where specific moves on counter hit give you a big unique combo you can’t normally do.

I sincerely wish I was as cool as you.

exactly

But it is something, even before when I thought every game was made by Nintendo and that Mega Man would turn huge if I hit the buttons hard enough certain games felt smooth and certain games just didn’t.

Take the time to learn melty.

I’ll admit, I never play Melty. Been dying to give it a shot.

there all fighters. And yes i also have never played melty blood

I wanna try melty, but honestly, story means a lot to me in everything. And I mean EVERYTHING! I buy COD for the story, so that should say something. So what I’m saying is, I have no idea who the hell anyone is on Melty (I’ll get to them when I finish Fate) and I hate not knowing anything. I almost didn’t buy Persona because I didn’t play any Persona game prior to it. People complain that it’s stupid for me to do stuff like that but idnatkere.

Course I would try and ignore that reason temporarily since Melty looks kewl, but the game is only on PC and my laptop has been acting up lately and I’m not computer savy (can’t even get fucking msn to work anymore) and then I have to set up controllers and the newest version is retarded expensive unless I pirate it and then the netplay is a hassle IIRC and pfft.

I’m lazy. Sue me for it. I’ll sleep in court.

Melty’s story is actually pretty extensive.

Nothing amazing but each character actually has their own story to enjoy, you just get more out of it if you’re familiar with the source material.

Like a few have said before, it really boils down to aesthitics. Namco and Capcom fighters have their own aesthetic styles that honestly appeal to wider audience and I think that’s done on purpose. You’ll know an anime fighter when you SEE it.

Also, most non-anime fighters have more than one token muscley guy. Many of the characters look like they can kick as. Hell, even in Darkstalkers, all the males are ripped as shit. Even the zombie. Lol.

I can’t believe you typed that with a straight face.

Poor Sat-Chan.

but your basing it completely off of expectations set by capcom game, which is the problem

they don’t control ‘worse’ or ‘less smooth’, just ‘different’. movement in all fighting games is hard. In some fighting games, its the hardest thing to learn how to do
properly.

if you take the time to actual learn how the games function, its a completely different story.

Okay thanks for affirming my point and the fact you need glasses.

Damn somebody is obviously butthurt over being sweeter than candy.

Go play with yourself sweetness.

Did we decide if Jojo’s is an anime fighter? Cuz that game is stylish as hell no matter what it is

Is Slam masters anime?

It’s just that getting a hit in BB as opposed to landing a hit in say… AE (Gotta stay current!) is just not as satisfying. When I pick someone up in BB, anyone it just feels like… not as good. Just the walking around it just feels, less smooth fine but… cheaper. That full control is never fully realized by me.

It’s not only Capcom though, a LOT of SNK games deliver this “smooth and satisfying” combination as does Skullgirls. It’s really like say… AH3 (which besides making me feel like a pedophile) just doesn’t seem to mesh well and there’s no way I’m all alone in this. There’s so many more AE/Marvel players than any other game.

YES, AE and Marvel 3 feel very different but they are at the same time familiar, as is ST, HDR, 3S, MvC2, CvS2 etc. it’s all very… smooth and satisfying even Jojo’s and Tatsunoko the “anime” games still have that finesse and that oomph.

KOF and SkullGirls have very similar finesse and oomph (hard to describe), just to address your concern that I’m all Capcom that yes movement is way different in those games BUT they do deviate from that Capcom feel. It’s really JUST the “anime” games that do this to me.
