The Tennesse Thread: " Yeah,But I Bet You Cant Do a Tampon Transformation !"

Yep. Jump D. St. B and D are great footsies. Fwd throw in corner leads to god dmg.

Bishop gave some BnBs a while back. From jump ins:
Cr. B, cr.b, qcf+k (knee), then d/u+k follow up - the cr. B’s will also be your main hit confirm

Cr. B, cr. B, qcf+k, d/u+k and Drive cancel 2nd hit into lightening (qcb+p), EX qcf, qcf+p DM

I can play him at a super basic level just using his fundamentals. He is an awesome character.

Ya he’s overall a basic but amazing character. Those combos are good starting places and honestly not a huge need to go past it imo. They do just nasty damage.

You can plink on a pad. You just have to play using the piano method. Desk made a video showing how.

Thanks for the tips. I think I’m gonna try to start rolling Kyo, Kim, Benimaru…not sure what order though…

Phantasy Star Online 2 is coming.

PC and PS Vita.

Free to play.

GOD DAMNIT YES

Naw not yet. I’ll be up there when school gets out.

Rob?

Yeah that’s me

Anyone know some good deals on kof online? Otherwise I’ll pick it up tonight at slight wretch Gamestop. I hate waiting though, so unless the price is insanely good, I might just pick it up today anyway.

Are you playing on Xbox and live in Memphis?

This is just another example of the stupid design philosophy of making moves godlike but “hard” to do. Its stupid, either you want a move like this in the game or you dont. Eventually the players with the time to devote to exec practice will have this move on lock, looks at Mr Naps, but reg folk with lives are stuck at the mercy of shit like this

My main argument with the hit box is where should the line be drawn? I mean we now can do DP motions with short cuts of d/f, d/b, d/f which if you have a square gate is super easy cause you can just ride the gates. Supers in cross tek are simple motions with just 3 buttons, the 7th and 8th buttons on stick are always mapped at what point should the shortcuts stop? The hit box removing some inputs to make things easier though is crazy IMO

That team is dumb retardo. You could run any order really imo, but I like your Kim on point. Play around with different orders tho.

Guys I finished that KoF match Arson linked on my lunchbreak. The way KoF handles double KOs on last characters is brilliant and makes for some insane hype. KoF is without question the best and crunkest shit out this gen. /discussion

Also, whoever that one commentator is for West Coast KoF is awesome. I’m talking about the one black dude - he’s got deep game knowledge, mostly unbiased commentary, and is actually funny as hell. Great stuff.

@DoctrineDark

No worries man, I had you confused with another person.I’m sure we’ll run into each other sometime, especially if this Tekken 5v5 thing goes through.

Memphis = Tekken deal.

I’m going to be completely honest, I hope TTT2 does really well. Tekken is really one of those games that gets deeper and deeper the more you learn and invest in it. We know Namco learned its lesson about ass netcode from T6, and SCV netcode is great now.

The game does have a steep learning curve, but so does BB and KOF. It really helps to learn you char’s top ten list and build from there. I am going to purchase an etokki converter soon so that I can get games in on my 360 with anyone who plays on ps2 pad. I love watching high end Tekken, the movement by itself is fun to see.

I know Flymike isn’t sold on anything more happening after the 5v5, but if you have the slightest interest in learning TTT2, play T6 now.

It would be best if Jas played Paul b/c my second best character in Tekken is Miguel who Squabb will be using so making Squabb learn a new character and Tekken basic would be time consuming for him. Besides its better to put the better Byran player on the team

I’ll try out Kazuya’s electric tonight.

Jason, thanks for going through all the trouble of setting up play tests. I think we’ve both made our argument so we’ll see how it goes. I can’t speak for others but I’ll show up at MWC either way to support the scene/arcade.

also Dax: check your PMs

Sweet.

Memphis likes “combo and juggle” oriented games sans Blazblue for some reason…I think it’s just preference, everyone is always talking about skill in so and so game is better than so and so, etc…

Turtling is something known for Street Fighter, but not in KOFXIII, Guilty Gear, Tekken, etc…Those games are very aggressive. Sure you can turtle to an extent but in reality each one of those games has a vast array of combos on juggles and also explains why the guys like MK9

Obviously I am teasing a little but there is a point, you gravitate towards the type of game series you enjoy playing.

I think everyone is so hype on KOF, it’s a good game, but I think it is greatly exaggerated how “great” everyone thinks the game is. The majority of damage is going to be on execution into high damage combos as well as Drive Meter (Alpha 3 esque) Combos…there are problems with hit boxes (sometimes you are jabbing air and your opponent is in block stun (!)) It’s a very fun game but there are so many character complaints in this game and regardless of what people think, the balance in this game does gear towards one side.

Personally I prefer SF4 series because I have and always will be a Street Fighter player…I played KOF casually (so casually I didn’t play humans in it, only against the computer) Do I think SF is better than KOF? In my opinion it is. The series has always been more polished but that’s my opinion. KOF has always moved pretty choppy to me but that doesn’t take anything away from my personal preference.

So with that said I take the “current” games in this order:

Street Fighter 4 series-seriously (though I am not an active tournament player)
Street Fighter X Tekken-casually (Very fun game, but I am positive I won’t be playing it after June/July until the DLC characters are released)
King of Fighters XIII-casually (the best KOF game I have played sans the drive combos but I don’t plan on learning it beyond the 3-5 characters I like from the old days
Tekken 6-casually (The first Tekken game I have played against humans, I played against the computer in 3, 4 (barely touched it, awful game), 5DR, and 6. I needed to at least understand the basics of the game to understand the thinking behind it
Mortal Kombat-dormant (Until people play it again)
Marvel vs Capcom 3 series-never (not happening, I tried to play it a couple of weeks ago and I really just hate it)
Soul Calibur V-never (not fond of this series)

Games from the past
3s, MK2, UMK3, A2, A3, HF, CVS series, ST—I’ll play these if people ask but I don’t really care for them as much anymore, right now I just enjoy my time with SF4 and SFXT and am going to play some KOF again if I can ever get some time…

SO JUST MY OPINION. LEAVE ME AND MY TURTLE GAME ALONE ; )

I’m done with my copy of Silent Hill HD Collection for 360 if anyone is looking to pick it up

LOL leave you and your turtle game alone that should be your sig from now on.
