Dimo, as soon as I can get away from the baby today I’ll practice combos into Supers since that seems to be the only thing I am missing…the damage from those is too good to “not” learn and that is something I need to go into Training Mode and practice for awhile…footsies are all I have in that game lol
I cant believe i was showing
Fundamentals for tekken lol…
Iused to play tekken regularly a long time ago,but gave it up when Mvc2 came out…
Icould never master those moves that required doing Neutral as a part of a move
No, we’ve always understood this, but again, you need a crew of people these days to do that because most of the other TOs for majors are working/networking night and day on these…
The budget is “0”, everyone is basically helping out and donating time with flyers/videos for support of the tournament and entry/cover fees off, we just don’t have anything out of pocket for anything…if I had sponsorship, this would be easier but a lot of work has to be done…going to other events to promote, streams, flyers (like you said, but these are being done)
Advertising is not always what gets the big numbers, these days it’s the piggyback effect from the TOs getting players to fly out/sponsorship/etc for their tourneys…we don’t agree with “flying” people out as “special guests” because this isn’t about any “one” person, it’s about people coming together for an event that allows them to qualify for EVO spots, have a great time, is cheaper than other events, and run efficiently so people can be aware of our great scene in Tennessee.
Right now we’ve got basically Chris and Doromac and Dimo doing all the legwork we can on MWC and I know Jose has been promoting anywhere he can for streams but it does take a LOT these days to get numbers but we’re not trying to get 2000 people…I don’t think any of us have the time/money to be on Facebook/Twitter 12 hours a day and fly in pro players, we have to do with what we can but we got the EVO name again which is better than last year (and what everyone thought was “missing”)
AE: Fairly fun to play and watch, has a little of what everyone likes. Bad experiences are usually because you just like some other game and wish it was that game.
Marvel: Very fun to watch, fun to play if you don’t take every mixup you don’t block as an insult to your intelligence. Bad experiences come from getting BODIED.
KOF: Fun to watch, some people swear by it in terms of gameplay. Bad experiences come from steep learning curve.
SfxT: Boring to watch, fun party game. Bad experiences for people who hate Mario Party or social interaction.
Tekken: You either play it and like it or you don’t and don’t care about it.
Virtua Fighter: What?
Blazblue: Fun game to play if you don’t suck at it. Bad experiences come from rollercoaster balancing. The Devs can and WILL f*** your character on the next patch.
Mortal Kombat: MK fans like MK.
Man I know you’ve been burned in the past and I can totally understand why you would be hesitant to allow something like this. However, when you’re talking about turbo buttons, macros, block buttons, etc there is a very, very clear difference. In all of those cases, the controller is playing at least part of the game for you. If If I want a DP on a Hitbox, I have to go f, d, df+P. If I want a charge move I charge b~f…you get the idea. There is not a single thing on a Hitbox that would allow you to skip an input or block both ways or do anything like that.
If I end up going to the April 28th thing (I’m planning to) I’ll be more than happy to let you test it out for several hours or even the whole day if I get eliminated. But you said you wanted one for a week at least, for that to happen I would need to drive 6 hours to get it back or we would need a Memphis tournament soon after where someone from Nashville could return it. It looks like that won’t happen though cause the next one is June 5th. I did talk to the official Hitbox guys to try and rectify this but it’s not to try and soil your name and tournament into the ground, in many ways I’m defending you. I just strongly disagree with this decision…If you allow Hitboxes, I swear short of a death in the family I’m going, and if you don’t, I’ll probably still go but I won’t be competing in any of your tournaments.
I guess though if no one comes through I could try and ship it.
There’s a Nashville tournament on the 28th of April and MBB is on June 2nd … MWC isn’t until later in June - meaning you can drop it off and get it back before MWC as Nashville is coming to MBB, unless you plan on going to a tournament or something in May. If you need it back before then or just don’t want to lend it that long, just pay to have it shipped in a flat rate box instead of driving 6 hours.
Sev you have been on a real ass talk hot streak my man. Couldn’t agree with you more here. You have no idea how happy I was. Everyone is realizing that they are getting bad habits in games they actually give a fuck about, so they gotta put I down. I gave Pat a pass to play because he’s getting paid, but if it starts giving him shit in Kang and AE, it’ll be time to end that man’s career.
Yeah, DLC will give it some life, shit I might give Lars a try myself (not on my own dime tho sorry) when it drops…who knows…doubt it tho.
this and the hitbox shit are really laughable. And I agree with your stance Jason. The people complaining about no hitboxes, the title, and omfg the music in the trailer (it’s NOT dubstep assholes) probably won’t even show. No use in wastng time and resources for such a small group of people that haven’t even committed to going.
your footsies are amazing man, but we all kno that. We’ll teach you “Crunk Shit” (Registered Trademark of FlyMike Enterprises) and you’ll become a monster.
I just wanted to quote this for realness. I love how we are doing MWC and the events leading up to it. Very proud of and thankful for everyone’s contributions. I think Midwest is gonna be big.
NP mang. DC and the SRK wiki are the best KoF resources out there. I keep tabs open with character data and shit while I’m in training mode.
Still waiting on Gabe to get back to me about the match on June 2nd. If I still haven’t heard back by the end of the day, the game will be AE, end of story.
It takes less time to go between two buttons for charges vs holding back on a stick and pressing a button. That makes things easier. This is not about charge moves specifically but how easy is it to do 360s and standing 720s? Why does the MK community swear by these?
Anything that requires standard tournament equipment to be nullified to make things “easier” for players that completely eliminates the natural portion of the move timing wise will create an issue.
What you are saying about “no one coming through” is precisely my point. I already stated I would be open to changing the rules If I received a hit box for evaluate. I don’t have one still, yet Hit Box is saying the same thing to me everyone else is but again, until I evaluate this I am not changing my decision but am more than open to changing it once I get one to use. I don’t think I need to be responsible for paying for one of these to evaluate it, especially since it seems like only a handful of people are vocal about it in other communities other than MK.
Until I get one, the rule stands…but I know for a fact there is something about the Hitbox because MK community can only do moves most consistently (like Kabal stuff) on a hitbox because it DOES make things way easier and it stands that these were created for keyboard players (Kaillera) but most of the players using them now are either Analog pad players or players that couldn’t become accustomed to stick/pad and these make for easier everything.
I have no idea if any of that is true or not, but unless I get one to check out they are not allowed because there is “something” there with the Hitbox.
Find me one to use and I’ll see about changing the rule. The company contacting me when I don’t have a Hitbox yet doesn’t even make sense. Maybe they will lend me one? That would be the best thing for everyone.
They even explain how many steps this eliminates from using a stick. WTF on the Down/Up thing…
Can I hear everyone else’s thoughts on this Hitbox thing? and not just privately? I want to know how people would feel playing AGAINST someone that is a pretty good player if they have never played against one before…
It’s obvious this makes things easier, 100%. Can’t stress that enough, eliminating frames? That makes charging/down-up moves very very fast…
I want to hear what you guys think. Kinetik is the only person that uses one of these in TN, is that right?
Yeah, I’m going to have to go on record as saying Hitbox sticks should never be allowed in a tournament setting. It gives the player using it an unfair advantage over the other player. Between Kabal fireballs rapid 1/2 inch off the ground, standing 720’s, and instant ridiculous tri-jumps, this thing should be banned all over the competitive scene.
The tek squad is myself abe squab johnny jas I think. Though Jas and Johnny both play Bryan so something has to give I’d really like to see jas play Paul lol
Be less vocal= people forget about Milln.
Dang. Maybe I should change the av back to the pineapple.
I feel About normal(seems like it might have just been food poisoning?) and am in another city tomorrow training another manager. Is there a flyer, rough or not, that I missed that I can be dropping to businesses when I’m done? Jason, I’ll also be hitting up the mall for that thing we talked about.
MTNG Tournament with KOF Umvc sc5 and Bb is this Saturday, guys!
Anything they can do I can do just as well on a stick, I see no reason to hold people back for using something that is completely legit in every way possible. It’s not like he’s cheating because he can do inputs faster than you. With that logic sticks should be banned because I have an unfair advantage over Dpad users because I can plink.
After initial video looking I would say these have to be banned in MK and Marvel but SFAE is on the fence as nothing looks too crazy but I need to test the charge times…
