The Tallahassee Thread: The only things served at Logan's are beatdowns

Funny story: Logan winning AE was a direct result of him playing ONLY people that weren’t from Tallahassee. If he had to play myself or Chris he would have lost free. Even 3 years after the game is out people just don’t know how to fight against Dhalsim. The guy Logan beat in winner’s and grand finals was a good Cody, but he was just lost when it came to Logan’s Dhalsim. That night I beat Logan 10-9 with Cody and I know next to nothing about the character, but I do know how to fight Dhalsim.

Though really I can’t hate that much…3 years later I still can’t fight Fuerte.

long story but i dont have a facebook lol but yea can some 1 txt me or call plz? really appreciate it.

While I agree with you Andy and that disparity is still there, hell I may be playing catchup for the rest of my life in games, but thats not going to stop me from being better. I am going to try and keep closing that gap. This probably sounds corny or chessy but eh whatever. I also agree with you that learning seems to have stagnated a bit, and I blame Marvel 3 a bit when you have players knowing that shit works but they don’t know why, but I’ve learned things from every player i have played. Anytime I’ve played Ron, he puts in his two cents of advice and I take that and run with it, dude just doesn’t play the game enough for me to learn consistently and thats nothing on him, dude prefers marvel 3. Playing Jay and Chris has been extremely helpful in me learning how to get better at Street Fighter. I constantly ask questions during Gameplay, Frame data, why they did a move, or what their gameplay was from the start unless I feel they can’t tell me.

Not sure if your patronizing me or just foolin with me(thats the internet for you), but i agree with you on some points, but I still feel its worth giving a shot for leveling up. To be honest, and I’ve chatted with Chris and Adonis about this, but players in Tallahassee have seemed to plateau(at least the higher level players) Like they could be a 9, but they’re complacent being a five and don’t go the extra work to start leveling up.

Fooling sir.

Do what you are passionate about man. I’m not raining on your parade. Just offering constructive albeit brash criticism for the tournament idea.

P.S. I agree on the plateau but at the same time Tallahassee’s integral players are getting old. Its a natural progression. Eventually getting laid and paying bills become more of a priority than combo execution.

Chris Austin will surpass us all. (jk Chris couldn’t resist)

Drew you misunderstand a bit. I know WHY the stuff I do in Marvel 3 works, those things are pretty obvious. I just don’t necessarily know what you’re supposed to do about it other than get better at hitting buttons.

Hey man I’m down to get some games on whenever bro! This guy right here is always down to level up! Uh huh. Also, im really down for a 5v5 for some money vs Gville

I respect that. Honestly i feel the only way to figure this out is to
A. DOn’t get hit by it.
B. Play someone until you figure it out.

but then thats true about any fighting game. Marvel’s are just obnoxiously ambiguous about what you’re supposed to do, if anything at all

Shit, probably will, Drew, and with absolutely no shame lol.

AKA why I suck.

Hit up this guy:

Man I’m callin’ you out: you are the king of this excuse! Mr. I-Just-Had-Sex right here. Gotdamn

But the only things I do aside from that are school and work! I’m lucky to even sleep!

Fixed.

Fixed

if the net code is not shit, yes I will pick up kof, I will be at peoples house to mootch off TTT 1, TTT is a little slower and stiffer for what is out now, but none the less the best tekken game ever made

I’m at a crossroads

Haha, you know, I can’t ever really think of a time when anyone has asked me why I use certain pokes. (I obviously have a reason for them)

Speaking of, I’ve got Makoto in the lab now, and she’s… Kinda fun! S.mp - feint - mixups are fun to do. I wanna run her a bit when I get the chance.

I’ll run some mirrors or v. Ryu matches when I’ve got a free bit. Drop S.mp feints for the most part, S.FP feints are better in almost every way possible.

Isn’t the range on the s.mp feint is larger? I’m not sure if I’ve got my ranges right, though, but I could do FP, (feint) MP, MP feint kara-karakusa.
