A 5v5 would be cool if it were in a larger play session. There’s no reason for either side to travel if we aren’t getting games in for a good while before/after the 5v5, right? I think there are only two houses in Tallahassee that can support a gathering like that, though.

This isn’t like NY Tekken, but its still experience you don’t get in Tallahassee. They have a good everything. I got bodied by Dan, T.Hawk, Sakura, Gen, E.Ryu. I’m holding my own with Oni though. Character is mad fun. Still got Seth/Yun but I been on Oni/Zang lately way more. Zangiefs U2 is super dumb…

Mike G is right to a degree though, this won’t pick up off the ground if tally’s scene is to lazy/busy to put any effort into it. But i would hope because Logan keeps demanding out of town comp, that The Tally scene would work a little harder. I like this idea of a traveling 5v5 or honestly just a biweekly ranbats held in a different city.
@Andy if we don’t do anything its gonna be Chris’ winning AE all the time, its going to be Ron and logan winning marvel all the time. I would like to see some new top players, but if we all just stagnate and don’t branch out, then its gonna stay the same. That kinda excuse bothers me, “well so and so is just gonna win anyway so why bother” why bother playing the game at all then. As Tally’s up and coming player on the rise, If i had this mentality, I wouldn’t have leveled up like i have in the past year, I went from being a total scrub to a decent player who places somewhat high in every tournament i enter now. Maybe its because I have a drive that other players don’t, but i know alot of players here are ambitious and I think that we should give it a shot and put a little effort into it.
I can support that. But I don’t play those games at all. I have way more room now since I am single and have 3+ screens and multiple rooms available for play.
Shiiiiiiit then we all better start playing Tekken so we can head to G-Mike’s crib!

Let me tell you Jarv. I hated Tekken until I learned it. Ask Andy, he can back that claim. I bought the original tekken tag just for the bowling game and then my roommates taught me the goods and I have been hooked since then. Is TTT HD remix out yet?
If you guys want to hold things at my house, I do not mind, just let me know so that I would be around. I do know you all hate coming here b/c I am on the other side of town. Even tough I don’t play these games, I am not oppose to hosting to keep the scene alive for what ever the occasion.

@Drew: While I appreciate your vigor, I wouldn’t say you’ve placed ‘somewhat high’ in any tournaments where you were actually challenged in your first few matches. No offense to anyone you’ve played or you, but you still have a long ways to go before you get to the level you think you’re at. The problem with that is a severe lack of varied (and skilled) competition in town. Again, no offense to anyone, but we’ve only got 3-5 really skilled players around Tally. Online AE is decent training, though.
I’d like to think that I’ve never had a rainbow sunshine bracket. Hell this last tournament I came into Fourth place all the ways from losers, taking out some of the better guys there (Fuerte and Chun). Tampa was no picnic either. I know that I have a long way to go, but im saying that I’ve already come a long way since i started playing with you guys and it has turned me into a decent player. Thats all im saying.
So how about that "don’t equip gems"option S-kill offered us for SFxT? If gems do end up being unbalanced/stupid, the community will have the option to simply not use them. Pandora, also, isn’t final and can get cut? No tears here.
Pandora being cut is an outright lie. You don’t have to play with gems but there is no “No Gems” option. You can play without gems… and I’ll play 6 speed gems or whatever is most OP.

And i think Jarv is calling bullshit on that Pandora MAY be cut. His opinion is that Pandora won’t get cut at all

Yeah it seems to be integral to the story plus it’s not like Seth makes the decision on that shit. I’m sure if he really talked to the development team it would be taken into consideration but my guess is Pandora is a go and you’re a chump if you don’t use the OP gems.

I’m joke with a hint of seriousness about the Tally tourney scene. The 5 v 5 would promote a “team mentality” rather than the usual competitive nature in Tally. Austin and Jay are about the only two I know that will sit down with you and constructively tell you what you are doing wrong, but they are extremely racist and will not help promote “the man”. Everyone else would rather take advantage of whoever’s ignorance and that’s not conducive to high level play. If you play a match, get hit by something, then pause and ask the person why they did that or why it worked, then you’re learning. That doesn’t happen in Tally for the most part.
Sidenote: Its the exact opposite down here. Dudes pulling me to the side explaining shit I learned on day one.
