im still surprised america hasnt done its own power rangers from scratch. ive seen some unique paraody like the emo rangers can easily be an mtv/spike tv show.
They wouldâve been kicked in the balls for changing the costumes in season two. The 6 original rangers and their costumes are the ones that took America by storm.
that first movie made madd moneyâŚi was soo confused by the costumes in the movie. lol. i was like when did these niggas get nightlights?
But see i loved that they took liberties with the costumes and also adding weapons. I seriously was excited and confused when i saw Kimberly with the pink whip and billy with whatever the hell he had. Plus with a big budget they had to make the costumes look better than the Japanese hand me downs they were rocking on the show.
Unfortunately the closest we ever had to an original ranger-esque show was that abomination that was Tattooed Teenage Alien Fighters from Beverly Hills. Jeez that show sucked balls. Like i would rather watch the shitty Masked Rider than watch that show.
BUT i am interested in seeing Kamen Rider Dragon Knight. Apparently the CW picked it up. If this trailer is any indication then this show is gonna be all sorts of awesome.
lol warningâŚmatt mullins cant act for shit. he has clean martial arts and really clean basic martial arts tricks but he cant act.
regardless this show will wash away the nasty taste of Masked Rider and we can finally have a legitimately good American Kamen Rider show.
PLUS
finally we get see a black guy as a kamen rider.
A bunch of my friends are on the show. Some as actors, some as stuntmen. A couple of them said Mullinsâ acting is âokayâ (most likely to be nice). Also mentioned his martial arts skill was clean, but doesnât really flow that smoothly choreography wise. Also, the pilot episode is online:

ya ive seen some of his old stunt stuff with craig hennigsonâŚcraigs flows nicelyâŚhe has a flowy almost wushu style in general but mattâs is very rigidâŚclearly u can tell heâs a karate guy in base.
My one problem with Dragon Knight is that Ryuki was one of the worst new era rider shows, but then again theyâve switched up a ton of shit possibly for the better.
Yelling âkamen riderâ however is ridiculous when transforming (no it doesnât need to be henshin but youâre at Leeroy Jenkins level here).
lol. henshin a go go would have been top tier to yell.
Oh yeah. Iâve seen some karate/tkd guys can actually flow pretty well with the right choreographer instead of that 1 pause 2 pause 3 pause piece of shit you might see back in the 80âs. Kane Kosugi for example in Blood Heat had a damn good fight scene in the hallway. It was smooth, but his actions were still clean and had umph. They really just need to bring a whole mess of fight choreographers from Hong Kong to Hollywood.
do u know if alpha stunts is connected to the kamen rider show?
That Iâm not too sure of. I know a bunch of guys from zero gravity and a guy from EMC that are involved, but Iâm sure itâs more of an individual thing for each of them than it is a team involvement.
hmmm im friends wit one of the zg guys on lj i should ask if hes on the show
Johnny is soo cool!
this is pretty cool

^cheh, The Bosch? has become permanently defined as âIchigoâ in my mind. I identify him more with that character than PR at this point.
I wonder how far behind regular olâ abc is nowâŚyesterdayâs ânewâ show was about the red ranger getting a new master, which happens to be the father of âŚwhatever his name isâŚthe âsurfer/stoner/laid-back dudeâ master. We finally get to see Stoner-Sensei actually fight and reveal what animal spirit his style brings out (wolf).
Meanwhile, that chameleon girl continues to be the showâs main hot piece of ass. Tai Shi is a fool for not noticing(or caring) how much she wants him. She so obviously adores him, and is incredibly loyal. He could be ravaging that all day and all night but noooooâŚheâs too focused on getting stronger and being as evil as possible. Still, heâs been one of the better PR villains in the past few years.
In an odd twist, I started watching Jungle Fury on Youtube after my cousin linked to the intro for it on Facebook. I havenât seen Power Rangers in about 10 years, maybe longer. In any case, The main plot with Tai Shi has managed to keep me watching. Well⌠sort of. I scroll to whatever parts heâs in and jump to the end for the Megazord battle. I hate EVERY ONE of the rangers. I donât know if theyâre all just too young or too annoying or what not but I really want the whole ranger team re-cast.
BTW theyâre on episode 22 now so whatever Million mentioned in his post is a good 10 eps behind.
I donât know man. Jungle Fury has actually gotten better. Around the episodes where they get there new upgrade Master forms, the show got new writers and its apparent because the show got better storyline wise and the Casey character wasnât as annoying.
The next story arc is gonna be pretty damn good. The bat, elephant, and shark masters become rangers and start to cause havoc and actually fight the other rangers.
Have you seen the Japanese version of this show already? I try to avoid spoilers so I didnât bother to jump ahead to see how it ends. I was always under the impression that Dai Shi would end up being the 6th ranger. I guess thatâs not the case.
I donât know much about the whole Masters situation. I watched the full eps where they got the Jungle Master powers and Zords then did a lot of jumping all over the place until I saw the Rhino Ranger in the latest couple eps. The teaser they showed last week seems to lead into what I figured was the last arc (how many eps are typical of a season?) and Iâll probably start watching whole eps if the writing is tolerable.
EDIT
I Youtubed the intros to all the shows. Man has there been a lot of Power Ranger shows. I noticed that Jason David Frank was in one of them again. Was that season any good? When I was a kid, Tommy was always my favourite.
