for me, anything that adds to the gameplay would be a huge plus.
if i could get a desert theme with wind, the angry sun, tiles to match, pokeys, quicksand tiles, etc. that would be awesome. poison mushrooms would be great. its what i wanted for my blood magic level, really. i really think some cool things could be done by the userbase but nintendo is holding us back because of business reasons and/or because they don’t trust us enough to make decent levels… things that are obscure like the hammer bros suit/turtle suit whatever its called, the tanooki suit, rotodiscs, hotfoot, yellow yoshi, light/dark switches and on/off switches could all be pretty useful elements. lets see what the community can do with it.

so i learned that hard blocks with wings go back and forth unlike the other blocks that go off screen via gamefaqs…
which i would have used to make a different boss. once i learned that, i was going to update the level before i left for the beach but i didn’t have enough time to come up with a better idea for a boss fight and implement it. i may update it later with a different boss fight.

-Spinys replace dry bones
-All red cannons/bullet bill blasters
-the coin placement is different. there are still 99 coins
-no hidden 1-ups
-the boss fight is different
-there’s a second half to the level now
-the speed is faster
-some of the jumps are different due to me moving tiles
-the only powerups are spiny helmets and the check point flag
-there are more bob-ombs and firebars replace some blocks
-enemy placement is different in some areas

The Arena (Kirby) (^o^)

I made this one tonight. One of the quicker courses I’ve put together and certainly on the easy side. For anyone not too familiar with the Kirby games, The Arena is often an unlockable mode you defeat boss after boss in one life. In keeping with the theme of that mode, there is no check point and the only real challenges don’t come until the 5th and 6th fights.
I just got home to a couple notifications regarding my Mushroom Kingdom Basics level and discovered these two gems:

I’ve already lost hope considering the clear rates on some of my courses :razz:
I played that stage and will beat it but that jump isn’t that hard. Kids don’t know timing.
OK, I finally made a castle level! It’s in SMW theme, and it’s pretty tough. Give it a try if you want a good challenge. I call it:

Got bored so made another simple level.

@The Damned In the Lost Levels, there were Red Piranha Plants that would come out of the pipes even when you were standing on them.
I’ve been meaning to ask. How do you change the music with sound FX soun it affects the whole area?
You can attach a sound tile to Mario and the entire level will play that music. You can also attach them to enemies and when you’re in the vicinity the music will play. There might be some other tricks, but those are two I learned.
I haven’t tried it but the other trick from what I read is to attach the file to a cannon (if it’s a small area like a boss fight room I’m guessing). Since the cannon can’t be killed it should always play as long as you are near it.
I’ve never done that trick though. Whenever I do boss fights I lay music tiles in the entire area of the boss fight. I tried just attaching the file to a boss but if you go anywhere near the boss in a level it’ll start playing and it’s not what I want if the player isn’t in the actual room with the boss yet.
If you’re looking to do something like what I did with my fish kebab level and change the music for the whole level then yeah, attach the file to Mario.
