Noted. I understand that much. You doubtless still sound better than I do, which is part of the reason none of the videos I did (which I haven’t done in two years at this point) have vocal audio either. Not that my vocal audio would be anything but cursing or saying something sarcastic while a dog bark or stereotypical black woman laugh randomly occurs in the background from time-to-time.
(A random thought just occurred to me that I can’t check since I don’t have the game: Does putting a Thowmp on one of those (vertical) line boundaries actually do peculiar to its behavior? Or can it even be done?)
Regardless, I just came across this obscure mechanic while randomly searching for Super Mario Maker videos on Youtube out of boredom (and avoiding the one with Youtube “stars”, ugh). Anyone interested probably knows about this obscure mechanic already since it’s four months old, but apparently those the question mark blocks with winged reset to their starting position if they’re expended and then you move far enough away from them. This has potential as demonstrated in the video I’m going to embed:
Thanks man! I’m trying to make some shorter levels that don’t take a half hour to figure out because I don’t get the best response from the harder ones (even though I think harder, longer levels are fun as hell).
Do you have any levels? I don’t see any posted on the first page of the thread, but I’ll play through everything you have if you’ve made any. I want to at least try every level here on SRK, and hopefully beat the lion’s share of them.
@roknin you were so close! The last coin is the one trapped at the very beginning, which can be accessed via Pswitch door at the other end of the level.
(I’ll admit that I laughed pretty damn hard at what happened at 17:33 despite the fact that the same thing might well have happened to me–damn Yoshi.)
Anyway, roknin’s latest video and FullMetalRoss’s latest stage have been added to the front page. I probably won’t be able to make any other significant updates to the front page until after the 18th. Just a heads up.
You mentioned–well, somewhat implied–tackling stages you thought you could finish, @roknin? Perhaps next video you can do one or more of Million’s stages given he’s new to this and has added a bunch already. He also said a couple of his were rather easy. Up to you, though.
Speaking of mentions, you were wondering how chadouken! got multiple Pirahna Plants in Under…Where?–ugh, all this mid-sentence seemingly sentence-ending punctuation–to come out of seemingly one pipe while playing. I guess that means you missed the video that specs linked to given that it’s literally the first stage’s gimmick in that.

This Mario Maker level showcase gives me sooooo many cool ideas.
Latest course…Once again goodbye to the greats walls and balls of fire stage and say hello to my latest course:
Ride the Spooky P-Switch Rails
E97F-0000-0222-4846
I don’t expect anyone to get this course in one go…a ghost house that’s about timing jumps and the use of P-switches. Good luck to anyone taking it on!
I read your comment man. i thought about linking all the doors so you can estimate how much track you’ll need to handle…but what fun would it be to spoil everything?
No lie me trying to upload it took about 30 min as I kept tweaking parts so it wasn’t super impossible.
Dang, @debs that level is going to make me say many bad words, lol. Looks fun though. I imagine we’re going to want to avoid our natural tendency to kill Lakitu, which is going to make things a little tough. Good shit, man!
