By the way, since we were talking about Assasin’s Fist and the upcoming WW series, some news about the Ryu actor. I liked what he did with the character in AF but honestly I would’ve prefered to have Jon Foo instead (whom played Ryu on the Legacy short).

Tarot SF Cards from Capcom E-shop
Ryu was supposed to be the Fool, because he is the representation of the heroes journey.
Because the fool signifies the wanderer not the gullible
But the other way around Ryu as The World is something that is a Deus Ex Machina representation do work too

By the way they showed us and gives us a preview of “G” in full body as the fool card… I wonder if that represent his fate(literal sense/role in the story) or his personality.
Any idea who is represents “Death” ?

I can just barely make out that it’s Sagat. It’s hard to tell since you can’t see his eyepatch, but I think I see his bandaged hands and feet.
I think it’s also worth noting that G is the only Street Fighter V character in those cards.

@bakfromon and @midgardsorm, thanks for the translation and to clarify about the SNH and the tournament thing. You guys where great, as always… But I’m afraid that it’s past now… as Capcom of Japan will be using the Digital Eclipse profiles as they were released on May (with Ryu defeating Sagat at the first SF tournament final). While I would simply say that they are too lazy to check and correct those profiles, they’ll become oficial (japanese oficial) just like the HD Remix endings made by UDON.

They are the same as the one from the overseas edition. I can only hope that they only used this as promo material. But I’m afraid that’s the final product.
They’ll be even reprinting the All About Street Fighter book released for the PS2 Anniversary Edition, without taking into consideration SFIV and SFV (they mention 12 games, however that’s the number of SF games up to 3rd Strike). I should remind you that this book is just like the All About Capcom Fighting Game book, however with only the SF stuff.
Man, I’m so pissed. At least the Tarot Cards seems to be cool.

It’s interessing that G got “the Fool”, one of the meaning is essentially “game-changer”, it can mean he’s going to be able to affect the story to some level

Rumor Mill is suggesting that S4 will be the biggest season and will bring in 8 characters rather than 6. In a way it makes sense. It’s better for SF5 to do S4 and S5 as 8 + 4 characters rather than 6 + 6. Capitalize on the playerbase now.

Last 4 will also be kind of “special” i guess, Gill will be one likely as sort of “bonus” kinda like Oni was for SF4
Some characters were associated with some cards with little regard to their meaning: it’s pretty obvious Rolento is the hanged man because they got inspired by one of his Ultras in IV and nothing else.
Others are spot on though.
