But it’s mostly for specific matchups.
That game had some problems, but there were some moments of casual glory that just feel so right.

Ewww, I really hope we don’t get the Neo Shadaloo Gorilla. The only thing he would serve in terms of storyline would be being a playmate to Blanka and nothing more than that.

Sorry to diverge from the topic, but I was reading some Eternal Challenge (UDON translation) profiles, and I came across the following statement:
“After an excruciating battle (with Sagat), Ryu defeated him and was declared the champion. Looking down at his defeated foe Ryu found himself filled with hatred, despair and uncontrollable emotions he couldn’t explain. Staring at his own clenched fists, he realized that a pure warrior needed to fight for reasons beyond mere anger and hatred.”
Could this be a nod to Ryu defeating Sagat with the Shoryuken filled with some Satsui no Hado? This also confirms that SF1 was a tournament. We also have such confirmation at Sagat’s story:
“Sagat’s scream of defeat echoed across the tournament, signaling the end to his previously undefeated record as champion of the fighting world.”
@Midgardsorm would you mind to take a look at those stories (orange section) in the japanese version of the book to confirm such findings?

Your concepts are the best. Love the creativity. It’s easy to picture them being utilized in-game, too.
The whole bit about Ryu being filled with negative emotions leads me to believe he was definitely empowered by the Satsui no Hado when he tore through Sagat with the Shoryuken. Those feelings appear to be beyond his understanding, which would explain his confusion much later in Alpha 2.

Agree I prefer Blanka x Necro and Necro X Dhalsim… it’s the crossover that back in the day was most awaited.
SFV should be SF2 Versus SF3 equivalent because we won’t have a chance of that past the SF3 timeline.
And the introduction of the Gorilla will just promote future “vague origins” of anthropomorphic characters in Sf that isn’t originally part of it’s universe it will destroys the consistency of it.

For next season as new male char if they go for the Knives Dude or the Gorilla, i’m ok with it
My preference will be Knives Dude though
They may have in common being tall and have sand big beard, but that’s about it, from what is possible see

They’re going to support the game till at least 2020, so I’m sure we’ll see Season 5. The 5th might be the last one, though.

The number 5 seems like a good number to end things on. But I think S4 will last through late-autumn to mid May/June then S5 will last until mid-2020. That’s how I see it.
Now I just want to see Necro and Rose come in a future update, that’s all I need. I agree with phtm-miria’s list, we should look at characters who haven’t transitioned yet to 3D. Sodom especially!

It would! I am basically sitting out til season 4 at this rate cause I no like balance and vega still the worst.
Also anyone who does not want shadaloo gorilla should be jailed.

Can’t be. We’ve already seen G’s default and his story costume, neither of which match Neo-Shadaloo Knife Guy’s outfit.

I’m hoping for at least a beat em up mode in S5 like in EX3 ending with the rest of the mad gear!!
That would be a dream especially with Haggar Alt and Cody in game !!
Making it something like a “survive the horde” of mad gear within a particular time limit.
