I started playing Final Fantasy 1 again because why not, it had been a super long time and I realized a couple of things.
I own every Final Fantasy except for 13
I think I have beaten… 7, 1, and umm… 8
So I figured why not go on the manly endurance round of manliness and play through all of them in order. Then of course I thought, why not enlist others to do the same and we can run this marathon together? I mean if yall wanna race you can but I play videogames pretty slowly so you kids will probably be finished before I finish the first game. But it is all about the journey isn’t it. Also why clog up the actual ff thread with this garbage.
K so I guess Ill make an Introductory thingie here, also when talking about the games I am sure there is like one kid out there who doesn’t know that [details=Spoiler]Aeris Dies[/details] so i imagine such a tag will be used a lot.
Oh yeah some rules
**1. None of the sidem games **
This is to keep us away from the Mystic Quests, Legends, that Vincent game, Crisis Core, tactics etc…
As a caveat though, I think 10-2 should count so that we all have to go through that. Also maybe 13-2
2. Only have to beat the game to go onto the other
No need to unlock all the sekrits/collect all the cockrings stuff like that

oh I am about 4 hours into ff1 and I don’t feel like starting over so I totally have a head start.
Most of the members will tell you not to play FF13…and while I like the game’s combat system, I wouldn’t recommend it as you will most likely not like it.
Any chance you could put videos of your playthroughs on YT or TwitchTV?
I think so? I will have to check out my setup, also that probably means I will have to stop playing ff1 on the psp haha, since I bought Origins for dat triple,
The only Final Fantasy games I have never beaten are 1 and 13. I would run through the series again but I lack a ps2 for 10 and 12. Eh whatever, I guess I can run through 1-9 and worry about those two when I get to it. Also I just realized I only beat 9 once so I might as well get cracking.
Fighter
Thief (I always make myself the thief, even though ff1 thief is mad boringu)
BlackBelt (mostly because I love checking every level to see if his barehanded damage has surpassed his weapon damage)
White Mage (lolhealinz)
I usually go Fighter Fighter Thief Red Mage but that seemed too swordy this time around.
also I will admit, I rarely read anything FF related when it comes to playing the games (I did have the strategy guide for 8), so I am raw dogging it playing off memory, which was playing it on the NES cart at a tenderer age, so mysteriously these “money tricks” and “leveling zones” are lost on me
Case in point I already got lost because I forgot where ASTOS was and then just lol ended up in the swamp cave and got the crown first.
Load up the game and go to the ship. First enemies you fight should always be Kyzokus. The ninja pirates. They drop a lot of gil. So you would fight them, go save. Reset the game and keep doing that for easy money for Silver weapons.
Power point is…
In that map… Look at 3 o’clock from the center. You should see a peninsula that looks like a finger pointing up. In that location of you would fight zombulls, zombtrolls, icetrolls and other stuff. Once you got FIR2 and HRM2, you could wreak havoc in that spot and level up fast.
I don’t know if they fixed those 2 things in the PSX version though.
