The Street Fighter V Lounge: We all gotta chill 'til the end of April

Capcom, pls give us Kolin already… my steam friends list is getting smaller for this game as more and more of them move on to GG (and I am too cheap to buy Rev until they release Baiken).

SFV is the best thing that ever happened for Guilty Gear.

I have many people in my friends list that bought GG, but most of them still play SFV :coffee:

Dude if you get Rev now Rev 2 will only be $20 when it comes out.

I bought Rev for $17 on Amazon about 2 weeks ago. Now I don’t have to pay full price for rev 2. Bout to get both them shits for $37 total. Revelator 1 is cheap as hell (financially speaking).

Not on PC.

Rev don’t go on sale on PC?

I thought Steam Sales be the reason you sober ass PC gamers are broke.

Niggas tell me “If you quit the weed you would have more money” when they bend over and empty their wallets for Steam.

So in other words you’d rather bitch about something you don’t like than adapt to something that takes like 2 seconds to understand and adjust to.

Okay.

I can understand that one Birdie interaction being stupid/silly and bringing that up but this is entering scrub territory now.

The most it had was 10% (19% if you already owned Sign) and they said it won’t have greater discounts than that for a while.
Guess they really want you to support the superior fighting game.
(You can find it for 30 bucks somewhere else though)

Wow.

Even PSN had it on sale for $20 at one point.

my ping was good. a 15. but unplayable.

There werent many dashes under 18 frames in sf4, and the dashes didnt cover as much ground. Focus did more to warn you a dash was coming than give suprise armor. Focus also basically added start up frames to a dash because the absorb couldnt be cancelled into a dash for 3 frames i think. Sf4 also didnt give command grabs to everyone. Makoto and abel were 2 exceptions of 44.

Also you could just crouch tech if someone did dash in, plus there wasnt any grey health or anything to penalize blocking. You werent going to get as much reward for dashing in a bunch, so people didnt use it as a primary means to get going.

You fight “high level” players in sfv and its litterally either jump dash or crush counter button.

You keep guessing if you think you know what you are talking about. You don’t if you don’t.
the neutral feels more committal for a bunch of various reasons including but not limited to:

Shoddy AA’s
Unsafe on block wiff punishers (like sweeps)
Jumps are faster in general
Pokes have less range
General input delay
Pokes have more recovery
Pokes no longer do much damage since most don’t lead to anything (sweeps don’t give hard knockdown, most pokes don’t cancel into safe on block specials that actually combo but don’t put your character in a bad spot on block)

Those are largely the reasons why the neutral feels more committal. Because in general you have to commit much more to get anything done at neutral.

You can’t like play ryu and win off of cr.mk xx fireball or play ibuki and win off of cr.mp xx neck breaker wiff buffer. Etc etc

Rev2 has all the Rev1 dlc, and it’s an add on so you don’t really lose much for buying it now unless you’re waiting for a price drop of some sort.

I would add “low active frames” to the list

All that said just because sfv neutral is different that doesnt automatically mean its worse.

Theres enough interaction for counter play and smart decisions, so there is a neutral to play.

I dont think theres a definitive right or wrong way to make sf neutral. You just know it’ll have a slower than air dash pace and you wont get to move around without jumping or ground dashing.

We either like things or we dont. With the shit show going in every non gameplay area, its just hard not to nit pick the parts that arent peoples favorite.

Well when the highlight of the game is “stunningly mediocre but functional gameplay” it’s easy to be pretty critical of it too.

90’s kids saved the FGC

I’d buy it for $20.

I wish Alex had an air command grab.

Edit: I think it would be cool if his elbow and St. HK were feintable like Ken’s overhead. It would shave off like half the recovery time but allow Alex to get in close and/or do some janky shit.

I wouldnt say that.

Theres some good stuff going. But much like the gameplay surrounded by shitty non gameplay, you get good ideas surrounded by some non sense.

My main issue with sfv neutral is they need to change certain crush counter properties on long pokes, and it needs to be done on a per character basis.

I really dont like mobile characters having mid hitting long range combo starting crush counters, and i dont like all sweeps crushing either.

What the fuck???

I was just making a snarky ass comment.

I was not interested in any of that bullshit. This nigga wrote a whole novella to me for a conversation I am not even apart of nor wanted to join.

Sit your ass down old nigga.
