The whole my generation is better only really works for 80’s kids cause I mean, if you were a 90’s kid pfftthta hahahahaha fuck off don’t even bother!!!
This is actually true. Scientifically speaking, ll the good ideas for films, books, and games were already conceived by the late 80s. Most everything after that has been a complete rehash.
Karin’s, Chun’s, and even Urien’s AAs are too bad for them to qualify as control characters IMO
Gief’s cr.LP is pretty godlike and he has solid AAs to boot, but he gets zoned hard enough in certain matchups that I wouldn’t call him a control character either. even against characters he can stand toe to toe with in footsies, he still doesn’t do very well with a controlling style since cr.LP isn’t rewarding enough for him to win games off it alone
birdie’s space control is alright but from watching the best birdies, it seems you have to go for gimmicks and randomness to win. I think Cammy and Guile are really the premier space controllers right now
Rare footage of DJ going to the archives of shill power and pulling out the tape that says “Collection of bits of SF4 that sucked - use in case of emergency”
Black & White was probably the best thing that ever happened to pokemon after Gold & Silver. X&Y that came out afterwards was a very good entry too, adding loads of content and making the big migration to 3d. No idea about the latest Sun & Moon as by that point I was a kind of burnt out and doubted we will get another Black & White anytime soon.
Really if you stopped at Gold and Silver that’s a pretty good high note to go off on.
Wait!!! HOLD UP! HOLD UP! They’re remaking Scarface!!!
WHY?!
WHY?!
WHY?!
WHY?!
MOTHERFUCK YOU HOLLYWOOD!!! Leave that movie alone! Let it remain a classic…for the love and purity of cinema please leave that movie alone. I want that shit boycotted.
Justin Wong clearly controls space with Karin for far too long to not qualify her as a control character. It’s definitely possible to play her in that style. It’s mainly about staying at a range where you can press buttons at them and they can only jump at an obvious range that won’t set up a cross up.
The control characters all have their own caveats, but generally Karin is given “poor” AA because she turns any neutral counter hits or whiff punishes into large damage. If she hits you especially on counter hit with even one ex meter your life bar goes away and your stun goes up really high. Within SFV she’s not going to have great AA to go along with that. You can get your AA with Rog, but then of course you have to give up having a special reversal.
Urien has spotty AA, but he has enough things that point up in the air where the opponent can’t go for it all the time against him. Especially when his buttons are so long that he can put people in spots where it’s obvious that they are going to jump and prepare an option any way. I like watching Gief vs Urien as you get a lot of good space control between the two. Although ideally they both want to get in and do the most damage to the other.
