The Street Fighter V Lounge: Tron Bonne rumored as DLC

Chris G/T bitching knows no bounds. There’s no way I could follow both of them on twitter.

Guile is taking a risk with every single sonic boom. The risk vs reward looks way too skewed in her favor if you ask me.

She jumps or do something punishable and eat what ? 50 to 150 damage maximum. Well, if she did get in successfully Guile would eat a full combo and good corner carry.

I think Justin probably was playing too aggressively. He was burning down his V-bar constantly on V-reversals and his meter on EX dash that was very readable on Du’s part. He probably should have taken his time a little bit and played more patiently.

Even Justin himself said that there is no way that Guile can beat Karin.

It was pretty obvious who Mike Ross was calling out. The whining needs to go…Nuckledu keeps getting better by playing online while others who have a strong local scene continue to disappoint

I think the other thing is that Guile’s “zoning” is quite different in this game. There’s still a lot of things to pick up with Guile’s zoning and neutral and as I see people pick them up, it doesn’t seem as simple to just get around the booms. His booms can turn into offense now and he’s much more dynamic in his offense than he was in IV. Guile will take it to you now in this game with shimmies and throws into V Skill booms trapping you on wake up.

Playing more patiently would have been the better option for sure as like I said her anti projectile options are risky and resource burning. It’s just if she sits on the meter for too long then I’m not sure how she gains control of the neutral either. It sounds like it’s a matter of getting in and staying in once you get there, but Guile can push you out since he’s not as bad on defense as people make him out to be. Especially if he’s sitting on V Trigger which that can turn into a burst of offense.

Guile can move in and kill you now too and Karin has that nice 900 to make reads against.

Tbh I don’t really know what vegas general gameplan is from midscreen since he’s fairly rare, but I know that birdie bodies vegas forward heavy. Vegas claw specials are pretty annoying to deal with, I agree. I’ve seen a lot of people say that his claw hitboxes aren’t that good though and he doesn’t get access to his best combos. Plus I feel like birdies at his worst when he’s on defense which claw off is designed to exploit.

Nah, Du was using his meter on VR and ex booms. He played a good keep away game and got in s lot of walk up throws. Mr Reactions didn’t tech enough to win the match. Guile doesn’t have the greatest damage conversions while moving forward

Shit! Missed the first page.

Oh and I went 4-2 in my pool. (First one was a Bye)

Didn’t play GamerBee, and fell just short of playing Commander Jesse in the last match of Losers in pools.

I eliminated someone named “CCG | Lapchi”. Is he someone known?

True, but they’re definitely not bad (shimmy stuff with s.HP definitely hurts) and I’ve seen V Skill boom set up a lot of offense during his zone. It allows a very seamless transition between defense and offense that he hasn’t had before.

Vega f.hp is actually a bad move overall, everyone bodies that. Against birdie it’s useful to poke him out of v-skill though.

The VS does helps keep people honest due to its quick recovery and space advantage. Wong sure didn’t look like he knew the matchup well. Du’s zoning was really effective and the VS was a good changeup that kept JW guessing (and mostly wrong at that)

Okay, I need to see the game that was just played and see exactly what changed, because the last time Du brought out his Guile against Justin, Justin just laughed and did HP Ressenha all day erryday whenever he predicted a boom. Somehow that otherwise shitty move passes through booms a lot better than other projectiles, but more importantly: since he can’t block the move with downcharge he needs either super or VT to get a punish bigger than the damage the ressenha would have done, plus Karin gets a knockdown and gets to run a train if she hits. Guile’s footsie deadspot is also right in Karin’s sweetspot, which doesn’t help much either.

Again, I need to see the actual game. It might be that the matchup has been figured out since I played, which admittedly was 2-3 weeks after Guile dropped.

Didn’t count one ressenha during JW’s match but did see a lot of empty jumps that simply allowed Du to walk up throw

Welp Marvel done

Not really interested in seeing SonicKombat XL Free so I’ll gonna play some more SFV

You’re taking what I said out of context. I said he can play a defensive neutral game effectively, meaning he can keep people out. I didn’t say he has good defense once someone manages to get in.

Still, his up close defense is far from the worst. He has a reversal (even if it’s metered and starts up slowly), a corner escape option with knee smash, and his VT offers massive comeback potential.

Most V skills are bad and/or highly situational so I don’t see how that proves anything. Chun’s V skill isn’t good either, for instance.

Lastly, it’s not not true that all of Urien’s forward moving specials are punishable. Headbutt is at worst -2 on block except for the EX version which trades safety for invincibility. EX tackle and knee smash are both safe on block*, and the regular versions (while unsafe) can be spaced to be safe or even + on block with practice.

*(EX tackle has a gap between the 1st and 2nd hit that can be interrupted if you use it point blank, but there’s not much reason to use EX tackle at that range anyways).

Sure, it might have gotten figured out to the extent that Justin didn’t bother going for it anymore. If that’s the case I’ll concede it’s probably not that bad.
I do remember Justin actually making a big deal out of HP ressenha in that matchup during an interview though, so I find it a bit curious.

It’s a hard one to play as Ken. You can run over Rog if you get started, but it is really hard for Ken to get out of the neutral game

Momochi lost :(. Then I went to battle lounge and failed half of my combos for some reason. I think everything is linked.

Someone just “Got that ass banned” from Canada Cup

Gonna stream some RE4 till the finals!
