I’m pretty puzzled why people are asking for multiple VTs/V-skills when half of the existing ones are either useless, boring, or a copy of another character’s. Seems to me that Capcom ran out of ideas very early on.
I see your point but fake doesn’t mean bad. Ken who is a very good character lives and dies on fake stuff (which is probably the reason why he gets a lot of hate), when Momochi does 3 b.mp in a row, or when Eita does cr.lk xx run > cr.lk, it’s not real either.
I have to agree Cammys looks boring, BUT I replaced the soundfile! Now it plays Rules of Nature if I activate it!
Now it’s the most awesome V-Trigger in the entire game.
I think a few characters need their V Skills retuned or reworked. Characters like Bison, Cammy, Mika and Vega don’t really need them or are very situational. For season 2 I hope they reevaluate them, make them more appealing for all the characters.
I mean, they got quite a few right. Necalli, Ken and Dhalsim got some cool stuff that benefits their game n makes em feel pretty unique.
Not complete copies, but many of them are too similar for my liking. Such as Mika/Urien/Alex each having a V-skill that powers up the next move. Cammy/Vega/Juri’s are pretty similar in function as well even if Cammy’s happens to be better than the other two.
I find most install VTs pretty uninspired as well.
vega’s is nice in that you can target combo into it to build v-gauge. it’s also awkward cause the straight up dodge version is pretty much useless, and the v-skill attack version is slow and doesn’t have enough invul so it’s really only useful vs. Ryu/Ken/Urien in neutral as other fireballs tend to spawn too close to the opponent meaning it’s impractical to v-skill through them.
it’s like they took the “balanced around ryu” thing too seriously as thats the match where it’s by far the most useful, and even then Vega would still v-skill less in that match than other characters do in an average match.
I don’t even get why people are still bringing up the “fake” argument when it comes to judging how a character fares. Ken is negative on block on almost everyone of his buttons and all his run cancels are unsafe AF, yet people are here discussing if he’s top 3 or top 5. Karin has a shitload of gaps in all her specials (which are also almost always negative) yet she gets away with everything. Necalli has no true 50/50 outside VT, yet he can just walk towards you and catch you with his 8f command grab. Even Chun and Ryu get away with murder on many things.
It totally makes no sense to judge a character purely by its frame data in a real match where conditioning is at play. As Xian said about FANG, a 3-7 MU may become a favorable one if you know how to limit their options in order to let you deploy your gameplan.
The whole planet was in an uproar about how shit ken was in the final beta, from which he was virtually unchanged to the final version. I kept saying he had amazing space control and could make a comeback from full screen distance, but everyone bitched and moaned. Someone even changed their avatar to ken on a wheelchair.
So fucking silly.
EX V-skills (either enhanced versions of existing ones that cost a bar of V-meter, or completely new ones that are stronger than the normal ones) and an adjustment to V-meter building. I’d like V-meter to be more accessible to all characters outside of only crush counters, V-skills (which most characters have poor V-meter building with already) and getting beat up, I really don’t like the latter being the primary way many characters get it. Necalli’s ability to build it is more what I’d like to see across the board. Would make V-meter usage more interesting…if they handle it right, at least.
