After seeing Mighy Number 9. I am not sure that Capcom is 100% to blame for the megaman situation.

They did fuck up DMC badly though, then again i would rather not getting games from the series over getting things like Might Number 9 and DmC.

It’s a matter of preference I guess. Laura and Sim are pretty much at the same tier, but Sim is a little more technical

On that note, there is a stunning relationship between the level of faith you have in your character and the results you have with them. I think it is not a coincidence if Itazan, Will2pac and Xian all think their mains are much better than most people think while Krone and Snake Eyes that kept complaining about them are underperforming. Even if you may argue that you tend to have a better opinion of characters you are successful with.

That argument kinda falls apart when Crismon won a major tournament with Laura and was highly competitive with anyone with his character. I never saw him get blowned out with Laura.

Ever since the switch to Sim he’s been getting feet up his ass once he gets to top 16’s. Sometimes top 32’s of stacked tournaments. This is a big drop off from what he was getting before and many people are starting to notice.

While he may think this is an improvement his results say something different. Also personally I think Laura is a much stronger character.

Didn’t crimson only win with laura because the game was still in it’s early stages?
It probably wasnt even 1 month since the game came out and he won

Its recovery is long and it’s a free knockdown for her. Xyzzy wasn’t reacting to the Cammy’s jump. He had good placement and timing, but a lot of whiffed cr. hps went unpunished.

I get what you’re saying but he was playing Birdie as a solid wall. There’s allot of shit in this game that’s fake as fuck but it’s how you implement the lie that makes it good.

I have to give Xyzzy props because he made Birdie looks fantastic.

Hopefully by next Evo will have more than Nash, Nash, Nash, Chun, Chun.

Sim does poorly vs. most of the DLC characters as well IMO, which certainly hasn’t helped his tier placement. All of them except for Guile have some sort of fast horizontal approach tool, which Sim’s sluggish limbs and vertical fireball aren’t exactly great at dealing with.

I wish they would consider giving back his horizontal fireball… there are so many matchups where Sim just can’t throw fireballs in neutral and it’s a shitty feeling. The funny thing is that Combofiend explained arced fireballs as being a “better pressure tool” than horizontal ones, despite the fact that they are useless for corner pressure and their trajectory forces you to guess between quick/back rise after a midscreen knockdown. And you need to spend a bar on EX flame just to have access to that setup in the first place…

Another thing that really doesn’t make sense about Sim is his V-trigger… VT is supposed to be a comeback mechanic, but the only time Sim makes good use of the flame carpet is if he has his opponent cornered… in which case he’s probably already winning. It’s a great example of a “win more” ability. Sure it’s still useful for hit confirms (just like everybody else’s VT) but even then it’s mediocre since slide>VT loses to V-reversal and unlike most other characters Sim’s VT is completely nullified once you hit him out of it.

The only reason his VT even sees use is that he doesn’t have a safe low otherwise, which is kinda unfortunate in its own right…

I mained Taki and Ivy in SolCal2 so you miggas already know how I choose my characters.

So now that the year is almost over I think we have a pretty decent idea of how everyone’s V-System kinda pans out.

What kinda shit are you hopping can be done to spice it up?

We’ve all heard the obvious make more VT’s like multiple supers in SF3.

Possible visual enhancements to the current VT’s.

Buff or nerfs IE a shorter time for Chun.

And of course making V-Skills a bit more viable for both offense and meter building.

Yeah yeah I know but outside of Urien or Ibuki I’m not seeing new tech being discovered that’s changing the way we look at the VS as a whole.

Wait what? He won the very first tournament with Laura where you might argue the meta wasn’t really set and many people didn’t know the MU (the GF was against Bison which tells a lot). Since he switched to Sim he got to top 8 in 5 tournaments out of 9 and he even won the online event, and he literally always got to top 16 at least. Either you looked at the wrong Crimson or you’re telling BS.
