My god have ya watched the daigo ryu research video with Kuroda? So much minute info that is so good.
Basically, normal fb can dodge high attacks, EX fb can dodge low attacks. This happens because ryu’s hurtbox moves back before he shoots it.
Though I think the biggest takeaway from this is that in Vtrigger, you can’t CC ryu’s fireball startup. Ryu’s have been using his fireball game wrong this whole time, especially in Vtrigger.
Now I need to do tests like this with Ibuki’s v-skill.
People hate Ryu because they can’t play street fighter, that’s the nub of it. The problem with this game as a whole, for me, is that it doesn’t take a hell of a lot of skill to be decent at it. It’s a rotation of few options.
In SF4 you could “copy” a players style, but those players didn’t really understand what was happening and would get blown up. In SF5 you can “copy” a players style and rip up a lot of players, that’s why Mika get’s hate, Nash get’s hate, Ken get’s hate.A bad ELF or Seth player could never beat you in SF4, in SF5 a bad Mika player or a bad Nash might just fuck you up because if they do this…and this… this… etc etc. That’s not a slant on good players of any character, it’s just the way I view the game.
If Capcoms goal in all of this was to lower the skill gap between players, I think they’ve achieved that.
The games fun and has a little depth, but I think they really need to beef it up, the V-skills in general need to be much better, there should be another meter option, perhaps multiple supers. The lag needs to be reduced, I’d speed up the pace a little ( hyper style) but that would fuck off half the player base.
I’ll be back in action soon even though wifi isnt that bad
Edit: @Plaid_Unicorn What state you reside in? I was playing someone in PR yesterday and the connection wasn’t that bad. Dude was Super Silver but I let it rock out…before that a few nice comfy casual matches with some ulta golds…then randomly all hell will break loose…I think it’s Windows Update trying to chew its way out after I disabled it…Windows 10 is NOT for the future (of gaming)
All they’ve done is lower the “skill” gap between good and average players by limiting the amount of OS. The elite still have the mind games, tech, execution and adjustments that makes up so much of what’s required to win in a FT2 tournament format.
Elite players are still winning and there’s usually only one or two surprises in the top 16 of a stacked tourney
Since most of the Capcom reps will be attending the Red Bull Battlegrounds event (including Ono and Matt Edwards), will they be making any sort of SFV announcement there…?
People dislike Ryu because he’s the closest this game has that could be called “vortex” - even worse than Mika. Forward throw, shoryuken and tatsumaki deal enough hitstun to dash three times, get in point-blank range and still have frame advantage for a meaty mix-up. “Honest character” what a laugh.
