Ruby Heart was a rejected Darkstalkers concept and was never part of any series. I guess they officially made her part of the Street Fighter universe.
The fgc is a small community. We all play against “and beat” top players. That doesn’t make us top players. I’ve gotten far in tournaments… Doesn’t make me good. I’ve beaten people that placed top 8 in evo… Doesn’t make me good. I’ve played near my entire life against socals best players off and on across various games from aris and semi in so calibur 2, to Valle in ST, A3 and sf4 to combofiend in sf4. And I’m leaving out huge amounts of names of lower level good players like Marq teddy and Hugo 101 etcetc. I got top 32 at evo in SG.
None of this makes me a good player. Literally anyone that is any decent can get top 32 at a major if they have a strong flowchart and decent fundamentals.
To me, the only thing that qualifies a person to say they are good is a top 8 berth at a major or the ability to get top 32 across multiple majors. It’s one thing to get top 64 when you a no ones radar, it’s another thing to do it once people actually know who you are.
None of this proves that LS is bad by any means nor is any of it trying to say that, however the whole “I beat this player/ play against this player so therefor I’m good” is a shit argument. Almost all of the fgc can claim that cause almost all of us have “top players” to play against on a regular basis.
Remember that chick MIM that lost to gllty, but had decent showing? She’s one of the players from my area and we are the most isolated place ever and have a small community and she’s not even our top player or close to it… But she can beat all of the people out here, myself included.
This is what I mean. Good by proxy means very little to nothing. Good by proof of tournament major placement is about all that can really be used as an accurate measurement of strength.

There’s a lot of nuance when it comes to playing vega, it takes a lot of awareness of movement and how you can move to throw people off their counterpoke game and for them to respect you enough to stop jumping. Taking advantage of his walkspeed to make jumping attacks straight up whiff is such a cool thing to see.
If Chun had a full screen 4 frame start super, better anti projectile options and a special confirm off a heavy button she would have better tournament results.

I see no issue with the claim that a player is good if he’s able to beat or play competitively against a top player (ex. lose a set but keep it close every round). All that means is that the player in question is good but not elite. Daigo is elite, Tokido is elite. LoyalSol is good. That’s still a big difference.

Dude might be the most disrespected american player. He got 9th at evo this year. had two evo top 32’s in sf4.
He also got 2nd at SCR and reset the bracket on infiltration in sf4.
He gets 9th at evo and no one even wants to talk to him, when other players the last few years got sponsored for just getting top 16.
I’ve beat Hugo in a ft5 and in tournament though in 4, and my winrate in online SFV is higher than Dime’s, and I beat loyalsol and ranmasama in SF4 casuals, so my opinion supercedes all and Vega is fine vs. Ken. Vega controls the spacing in almost every match. Chun/Cammy are huge exceptions as they have jump arc changing+walk speed+buttons

On a sidenote anyone have a link to what a perfect Remy would look like? I remember Bafael mentioning that if you can play Remy perfectly (which no one has or can) he’s busted asf. But I never did find footage of that.
