I know that if ryu dashes after a throw he’s at frame disadvantage, always look for forward dash after throw midscreen and check it with a jab hit confirm into whatever
Yes Vega players you do have some good punishes on Ken’s s.HK
Yes Vega players, EX Tatsu is not easy to use against Vega because his ducking hit boxes are so short.
And actually yes Vega can stop Ken’s jump ins if Ken is careless with them. Forward dash is actually a really good answer to it. I learned that trick from watching Nemo. Also if you know the jump is coming as Ves mentioned j.MK, air throw, etc. can also work.
There’s a lot of little things that on paper it seems like Ken should be able to exploit until you actually try it and realize Vega’s hurtboxes actually negate a huge portion of it. In general mid screen Ken has little that Vega has to respect until Ken gets V-Trigger. It’s the corner where Ken wins the match up, but unlike most other characters Ken’s “money buttons” either whiff, can get punished pretty hard, or don’t combo properly on Vega.
Now you can debate if Ken’s ability to run over Vega in the corner is good enough to balance this, but in my experience I think you need to make too many consecutive reads to make it work. In addition if you burn V-Trigger you give up your ability to stop Vega from getting out of the corner with his V-Trigger.

Or rather good luck trying to space a 13 frame normal against a character with one of the best walk speeds in the game such that you don’t hit it too close where he can get a punish and not too far where he can whiff punish it for 250 damage. There is not much of a safe range on the s.HK. The video I showed you gave you a punish on block from damn near the max range of the s.HK. So drop the bullshit.
My point is that spacing it to make it safe is extremely difficult to do. So much so that the risk/reward is so skewed you are better off not trying it.

And yes someone I play with consistently is Ramasama and he beat Julio twice at SCR and just got 25th at Canada cup. I beat him at the last local tournament we played in and when we play in casuals we go even. I showed you a punish on the s.HK on block from practically max range, but hey just shit on it because you know, you with all of your grand tournament results know so much about the game.
It doesn’t matter that the video demonstrated you could punish it with c.LP from a range that if Vega took a small step back the s.HK would whiff, but hey let’s just shit on everything.

I feel awful for DR Ray when he arrives in California only to get destroyed by Tokido in his first match. Some of you need to sit down and use the character before you say anything. I may not be the best Vega on the planet, but I know the character.

Yes I’ve used Vega
No one is claiming he is a great character. He’s flawed and definitely has trouble against a lot of characters. However, the match up against Ken he has a lot going for him.
Why the fuck is Ruby Heart on the SFV layout… is this a shop?
I don’t think the Ken matchup is that bad, but Vega certainly does not win it if only because of Ken’s corner carry potential and Vega’s severe weakness in the corner.
Ruby could fit in SFV. She could be the one who transports the fighters around.
Fighting on her ship would make for a nice stage also. And I refuse to believe Juri rode her motorcycle from Brazil all the way to fucking England…with Cammy and Decapres fine asses on the back
