The Street Fighter V Lounge: Tron Bonne rumored as DLC

Lol, I feel like that everytime I hit you with something then immediately get hit back… Then I lose. Then I wonder why I’m losing to shit being pressed on my plus frames… Then I go, oh yeah, online sf5… That’s why.

Lol, yeah the game basically teaches you to do dumb shit. I understand why you press buttons while being hit, and I’m pretty sure you understand why I press buttons after having been frame trapped twice already sometimes… It’s because the game is just rote 50/50’s online and spamming fast jabs just… Works… Lol it’s bad but it works so… Yeah. Dumb. Did you see how many times the wnf people/mov Chun/haitanis woke up with jabs and shit… Offline? It was a joke… But it works… Zzzzz LOL

I don’t think it could be caused by technology because with the actual netcode offline and online experience are basically the same unless the connection is really bad. I rather think that since you don’t really know the people you’re gonna fight (unless you’re in the very high ranks where there are only a handful of opponents available) you try out shit in order to surprise the opponent before he figures you out. Online you can just start matches by jumping in because 80% of the time they will open with a fireball if they have it available.
When you play someone you know though - even online - it is totally different. There’s much more respect and you know you’ll be playing long sets against them, so you can’t really outwit them once and run away with the points.

ryu is lame so you get him when i disagree no matter how the smiley looks like :stuck_out_tongue:

My experience with average fighter V’s netcode has been pretty good, weird.

Definitely ain’t no Skull Girls PC tho.

PS: You guys know that " Jebaited " emote on Twitch? Well, i’ve been spamming it like crazy (sure you’ve seen me on Twitch chat) I haven’t felt this way about an emote sense Kappa, seriously, too godlike.

I am gonna open this can of worms again, but here it goes anyways.

I now saw both the Milan game event and SCR and just like usual, there is a strong Chun-Li presence in the top 16 and top 8 positions. Yet, Chun-Li doesn’t take the tournaments.

This is the story of SF5 so, yeah there might be multiple Chuns in top 16 but she almost never takes the gold, nor does she make GF usually.

Now I asking why is that ?

This isn’t a down-play nor is it intended to stir a conversation about whether Chun has actual issues or not. It is just a discussion as to why a character that is used by multiple premiere players like Nuki, MOV, Go1 and others aren’t ultimately sealing the deal.

Perhaps the quality of these Chun-Li players isn’t as high as the Ryu ones. Daigo and Tokido both did win multiple events. Maybe Nuki,MOV and GO1 aren’t actually as good as these two and that is a valid argument in my opinion.

Nice

Blame dudes getting better with Guile. From now on, he will gatekeep Chun in top 8s. She got no chance against freedom.

There’s nothing deep going on, Chun Li players just aren’t winning tournaments, but they’re all placing high, that’s all there is to it.

The same way how Zero in UMvC3 could never win tournaments.

In a way, the same way Yun could never win tournaments in SF4.

She’ll get a little streak going eventually.

Your argument is good though. < 3 Cause all those players you mentioned, they weren’t really winning in SF4 either, while Daigo and Tokido were known to be able to take SF4 tournaments.

Yun never won a tournament?
Do I have to remind you of the divekick and wakeup DP festival called Capcom Cup 2015?

Yun wasn’t played nearly as much as Chun is now. Kaz was almost the only relevant Yun at that point in time.

It’s pretty obvious what I meant if you could actually read between the lines, and not take the word “never” so literal. I didn’t say Yun has never won a tournament in his life in Street Fighter 4, that’s not the point I was trying to make, I was just adding to Amrraed’s great point.

With that being said, the character rarely won tournaments, it’s a fact, but it’s also a fact that he’s been one of the best characters in the game in all his SF4 life time, and at one point THE BEST. (I don’t downplay my mains)

Waaaaaaah I drowned in pools

-LTG 20+++++++

What characters do we have at CapCup now? To have another EVO top 8 would really suck. I stopped watching SCR when Xyzzy lost.

Chun is the most difficult to play of all of the high tiers and her fraudulent stuff requires execution. Which means you only get a certain amount of people using her in pools and she ends up being reserved for higher level/sponsored players. Which then they find out that she actually does have issues in some matchups and generally can’t just haphazardly turn a match back around on a life deficit as quickly as Ken or Cammy and yeah.

I think Chun players will have a little bit more success if they hold on to their meter more for super, but it’s easier to hold on to your meter if you’re playing a character like Cammy, Necalli or Ryu as well. You can also just play a character like Mika that can turn the game around on one EX bar or none at all. Now you have characters like Guile that will force you to burn your meter as they burn their meter to get you to go in. That’s one of those matchups where whether Chun is sitting on lots of meter or not, she still has the same problems.

Main thing I don’t like about her is all of the twisting of the stick I have to do just to open someone up, when I can just do it with a few presses and special move inputs with other characters. Even opening people up with Ibuki requires less execution initially. Whereas with Chun Li you’re not going to open people up with anything that’s scary unless you have your instant legs and instant stomp down. Otherwise you might as well just play Cammy and dive down on people to bait buttons in bad places. Then on top of being the top tier that has the most trouble dealing with projectiles in a game where there’s supposed to be a lot of anti projectile options and they aren’t that good. Then at that point you’re fighting the meta more after getting towards the top. Chun’s claim to fame is her buttons and V Trigger, but there’s other characters with good buttons, V Trigger, have better comeback momentum and deal with projectiles better.

Whereas even though Ibuki is technically lower tier, I’m actually doing better personally vs a lot of the stronger characters since her mix up is easier to apply, generally scarier with less execution and she basically is just naturally anti projectile.

I don’t downplay my mains either.

It was the same in Vanilla SFIV, Sagat was considerd OP and he didn’t won anything.
I think thats pretty much what happens everytime.

Nah it just suffers from the same problem as Ken’s super where by the time you combo into it you’ve scaled it by a good 70% or more.

The homie @Plaid_Unicorn is still with us! Glad you’re okay fam.

Right. Realistically he wasn’t even the best character. If the game went on Akuma was going to destroy him and the other Vanilla console characters would have as well.

I always thought SFV Chun Li was within top 5 or 3, but I don’t think she’ll ever be the number one character in the game. Especially not with characters that are pretty solid like Guile becoming more popular. There’s slowly more hurdles being added that are going to keep her from being Alucard designated twice as good as everyone else tier.

MOV literally has won two tournaments this month. If Chun has bad results then basically everyone but Ryu, Nash, Karin and Cammy has bad results.

Sure the newer Tierlists have other chars over Sagat.
I think Akuma,Cammy and Seth are Top troughout the SFIV series by now.

Anyway, there is a lot talk about Chun and I gave my 2 cents more than once about this. I don’t want to repeat myself again.
Good luck she’s so boring in this game, everytime I play her I regret it instantly and go back to Juri.
Juri might not be as good, but at least she doesn’t bore me to death.
