Odds are it led to some sort of performance issue and it wasnāt seen as worth it. But the clipping really bugs me on default costumes. On alts itās fine, because you canāt expect them to go through every conceivable variation and fix everything, but when your default costume clips on the VS screen, that is kind of annoying.
At least Gief doesnāt look awkward as fuck like SFIV Gief. Seriously, I watched some USFIV yesterday and I was shocked by how fucked up Giefās proportions and animations were. The SFIV running bear grab was the coolest, though.
she is not bad but there are better options to choose, especially when you are a tournament player.
so considering to move on from a char when you notice you dont manage to win anymore while you might have a chance with others isnt such a strange thing to do.
char loyality is nice but as you can see with xian it doesnt bring you far when its the āwrong oneāā¦
edit- in a game in which you can loose 1/3 or more hp from a jumpinā¦aa are kinda important.
Problem with him picking up Chun is the learning curve to optimize her is going to be too large for him I think. If heās dropping Karinās non optimal stuff, I donāt want him to be a drop fest with all of Chunās stuff. Chun does fit his style though and Iām sure he loves those new age 3S buttons. Just donāt want to see the issues he had with Karin hurt him even more with Chun.
Better off just playing Cammy whoās better than Karin any way. When it comes to sponsored tournament play these days, even if the character someone is playing is pretty good and the character balance isnāt terrible, the grass being a little greener always attracts them.
Iām in the same boat as you I think.Iāll have matches with him where I think I got it, and then Iāll run into a playstyle/MU that makes me think why does he so helpless in a lot of situation lol. I played a Ryu who just jMK from this one range where cHP whiffed and no number of jLP will deter someone lol. I like how he is in this game, but I figure heāll get a big overhaul come season 2 and the. I might end up not liking him lolā¦
@āEvil Canadianā sorry if I sounded like a downer yesterday. 5 has had me on almost auto til past few days. Made worse with the now actual character crisis lolā¦One of the things that got me a lot, was Ex roll into sLK.Is there a situation where roll is +?
I wasnāt referring to Kokonoe. I was talking about BlazBlue: Calamity Trigger which featured Nu-13, Rachel and Arakune completely steamrolling every other character in the game. ASW let that rock/kill their game for a year before toning down Nu-13 and Arakune and nerfing Rachel into dust. How many players do you think dropped that game when faced with the choice of join 'em or lose (badly) to 'em? How many more people (namely the Nu, Arakune and Rachel players) do you think dropped the game when not only was their character no longer good but also no longer fun?
Hereās the thing, Iād be fine if we were to get something along the lines of:
Patch Notes:
-Fixed model clipping issues
-Adjusted BGM on _______ stage(s)
-Improved load times
-No gameplay changes
If we got the above every six months and the game legitimately didnāt need any gameplay changes (i.e. any change would just be for changes sake) I would be totally cool with that. What Iām not fine with is if a problem does arise being told to wait a year or more for it to maybe be fixed (this could be balance related or it could be bug related). I am also not OK with some of the more heavy handed attempts at balance/appeasement that modern fighting games seem to be seeing more and more of.
Bug fixes we should probably get more than once a year. But balancing once a year seems fine to me. Changing the meta every three months can also destroy a game competitively.
I remember those days all too well. BB: CT was my first serious fighting game and I picked up Tager because he was the only grappler and had the lowest execution requirements. No one told me he was trash tier so I stuck it out with him until the local arcade got rid of the CT cabinet. Whenever I catch myself wanting to bitch about a matchup in SFV, I just remind myself of those bad old days. Sad thing was, Nu wasnāt even his worst matchup. Bad as Nu was, Arakune and Carl were much, much worse.
