The Street Fighter V Lounge: Tron Bonne rumored as DLC

So, we’ll have KOF 94, World Heroes and Samurai Showdown on PS4 (plus Garou MOTW port someday and Last Blade 2/KOF 2000 which are already available). The first one is coming tomorrow (price unknown for now, hope it’s not 10 or 15 bucks).

What FGs are you comparing SFV to exactly?

I can’t think of a single one with less content.

The only way SFV could be worth as much as other current-gen FGs despite having way less content would be if it offered much higher quality content than any of those other games. Which I don’t think is true at all.

All these other great fighting games…

If only they had there own forum I can discuss the latest and greatest on…

No BS I think Birdie rapes chun.

I assumed he was one of the few that gave her problems.

Enjoy playing Xrd in Europe with all of the other 7 players who play it. I like the game and Graphics but in EU this game is more dead than any other fighter this gen.

Yeah, Xrd is worth 60$/year. At least this is what ArcSys and their fanboys think.

KI had pretty much the same content as SF5 for years and, before season 3, less fighters.
If you don’t count the 50 characters for the show, KOF14 doesn’t have a lot of content either. You have a few more online modes (namely online training and that party mode), then you have a fake story mode which is in fact an arcade mode in disguise, a challenge mode with a whopping 5 trials per character and a time trial nobody ever cared about.

The fact is, the 60 bucks you spend on SFV (or less if you got it in one of the many sales) is a long term investment for a game that will be supported for years; with games like Xrd on the other hand you’re pretty much guaranteed your game will be obsolete when the next chapter comes out, and the fact that KOF14 is considered as “complete” means exactly what it means - it won’t have any more content besides bug fixes and balance patches. Not to mention the game is already ghost town outside LatAm and China.
Maybe people would’ve preferred if the launch price of SFV was 20$ and they made you pay 20 more bucks for each new mode they added?

^^^ Pretty much this.

How Sway. People generally agree that matchup is 6-4 for Chun no?

For me it’s been well worth the $60 because I’ve made far more money off the game than I’ve put into it.

But for casual players who don’t plan on playing it competitively I can understand why $60 is too much for them. What a game is worth to you is dependent on what you plan on doing with it.

If Birdie had his cr.LP into specials from the 1st Beta then he would manhandle Chun-Li so hard. He would own her soul and eat her but as it is now, she takes the match in my opinion.

This is such bullshit, there are Xrd scenes in Germany, France, England, Norway, Sweden, Russia, Italy, etc…

So SNK is literally doing exact same thing they did with PS3 - AGAIN porting their classics library to home consoles

Outside of Japan, anime games will never have the same pull that Street Fighter games have for multiple reasons.

They are everywhere, they could be on the moon, who knows ?

You just don’t know what you’re talking about, that’s all

Absolutely. But for people posting here, it’s probably pretty safe to assume they spent enough time with it that it’s hard to claim you didn’t get your money’s worth. But yes, if you’re the guy who plays through Story Mode and maybe messes around with a few buddies every now and then, it’s so not worth it. Then again, neither are most fighting games.

Thanks for your valuable input.

This isn’t entirely true. It’s needless to say the massive swell of viewers towards the first few events after launch got disinterested but it hasn’t fallen below USFIV. The bigger SFV tournies gets restreamed a lot about 20-30% of viewers watch an alternative stream especially in different languages at a more reasonable time for them which doesn’t count towards the concurrent total views. SCR USFIV had about about 34k peak this year and SFV SCR had around so I peak then you count the French/Korean/Japanese/etc restreams SFV did about 46k more than the usual restresm percentage because of the Koreans watching the Korean Birdie. SFIV never got restreamed in this way because it is a new thing. Will try to look for the in-depth breakdown of numbers…

Pls explain me what content means to you, because mosz people I know see it like this:
Content = Arcade Mode
No Content = No Arcade Mode

There’re also tons of other games with low content around and people buy them anyways for full price, but thats ok I guess.

Since we talk about FG’s there is always this thing that I still need to understand, what is the appel of offline content?
My mainreason to play the offline content in SFV was the FM, in SFIV the titel. I basicly never again touched the trials after I got all the titel for Cammy + Rose. I got the FM from the SP content in SFV too and I don’t see a reason to ever touch it again.
That FG’s have a working online mode is more important, the SP pleases mainly the casual audience and they will be gone after 2-3 weeks anyway.
This game was market as MP game from the get go, so what I accept Capcom to do now is:
-Don’t implent arcade mode,time attack,whatever
-Brush the Netcode up
-Make the Matchmaker better
-Give us some goodies from time to time
-Enhance the CFN by a lot
-Build in Twitch functions. In Company of Heroes 2 you can watch streams, while beeing ingame, thats exactly what you should be able to do with the CFN
-Ingame Newsletter, hell they could just use the SRK frontpage and remove everything non-SF related

I don’t know why “content” is so important for a MP game, when you just have to make the MP great. There’re so many things they could do with the CFN,just to improve overall experience and just make it better this way.
But no,rather make more content people will play 1x and then never look at again.
