Random attacks out of nowhere… Hmmm…
You sound like someone that belongs on the tip of my dick.

you should really only get hit by wakeup jab if you’re 1) preying on your opponent not knowing the frame situation 2) trying to catch jump tech os
I assume you mean trying to catch jump tech with a delayed button?
When this conversation came up in the balance thread some people were saying that wakeup jab doesn’t beat delayed buttons, so now I’m pretty damn confused about the situation.
It seems to me it should just hinge on the timing of the jump tech OS, unless there is a “standard” timing that I’m unaware of. If your opponent tends to jump earlier, for instance, you’d have to stuff them with an earlier button, which exposes you to wakeup jab.
@Cipher just spent like 3 paragraphs shitting on max in a way that means you had to watch all of his content to know how to do.

Also SFV viewership is trending downwards, and is down relative to USF4.
So yeah it’s not “as hype” and frankly it’s not a good game.
A lot of work needs to be done to save sfv from my perspective…
I haven’t turned the game on since before Urien.
Maximilian is a fucking shill. I love the guy but he’s so up his own ass some times and has a more fragil ego than Mike Ross. He likes to use “NETCODE” as a buzz word to mean game I don’t wanna play. I also feel his complaints about SFV are valid but like most of us he’s a Capcum fangay so he ain’t dropping that shit. I also feel Max is a hypocrite because he shills for a game he works on that had no content on release too.
That being said I’m perfectly fine with him being the gateway for casuals to get into the FGC/FG’s. I understand allot of the old guard like @Veserius find him to be a big bag of wind but Max has never sold himself on being an authority on FG’s. He’s at least honest about that even if his bad habits are seen is truth to his audience.
Also he did try to play DoA5 with Mai online but bitched about lag and the fact that he had to do lobbies because no one played ranked lol
I have about 1,000 hours in this game. Can’t actually find this out on PS4 but I did some calculations based on my # of games and how long the matches last.
@Kecka @OceanMachine sorry, I’ve been away from home the entire day, had to go to Uni to discuss a few important things
Vanilla sf4 announcer was the second coming of CvS2 announced. Think it got changed because they sounded too much alike. Problem though is that they didn’t really fix the lines of the af4 announcer so a lot of his shit shot was too verbose.
As far as SF5 being unable goes, a lot of it is because a lot of the matches end up in similar places so they end up looking samey. As bad as backdashing rose was, at least that was markedly different than what other characters were doing it. In SF5 Ken is Ken and Ryu is ken; now Ken can divekick so he gets to be Cammy. Nash is sf4 rose but with an extra special and fuck it all just get in your opponent’s face.
I mean for fuck’s sake, Sim can barely zone anybody out. I like the game for what it is and have a lot of fun playing it. But there’s like maybe 3 or 4 characters that legitimately do more work outside of regular grab range and even then they probably wanna be in there too.
I have about 420 hours of play with SFV so far and I’m finally starting to break some of my old SF2 punish habits and using optimal CC combos
I still haven’t perfected the tech throw which is starting to cost me a lot more games against tougher competition.
Guess I’ll spend the next few weeks In training mode building up the habit and timing of tech throw situations to improve my defense which is terrible
We’re back to 3S where everyone is a semi grappler
We’re back to 3S where everyone is a semi grappler
This comment makes the week. Almost worth changing the thread title for it.
You aren’t wrong though. We are definitely back in 3S but with a weaker set of normals on the characters so people have to play a bit closer. Lol semi grapplers, never forget.
Although in that regard then sf5 Ken is kinda doing Elena combos.
Edit: before people get all crazy about the 3s comment items that a lot of the fight is on the ground with very little importance to fireballs except in some circumstances. The throw game is way weaker because of no Kara throws which means that you don’t get to give as much room to let somebody hang themselves as you would in 3s though.
SF4 announcer got changed cause the SSF4 announcer did the readthroughs or something and he was a nice guy. Like not merit based at all.

What kind of answer do you want now?
Watch one of Maxes videos on youtube, you should encounter everything I said within 5 minutes.
As much as I like him,he talks often to much BS and changes his mind every 5 seconds.
One of the hypest semi grappler matches I’ve seen all year:
I don’t have any problems with this semi grappler thing though, that’s how the oldschool was played.
Max tells his audience what they want to hear. And they don’t want to hear that SFV is worth $60 because it’s still in beta and blah blah blah. Reality is if SFV isn’t worth $60, no fighting game currently out today is worth $60. Unless arcade mode is all you care about.

Quoted for emphasis
I thought the “SFV had less viewers and trending downward” was debunked due to the formula not counting restreams. Iirc it’s between 0-30% higher depending on the major from last year of ultra. Could be wrong though.
Why the fuck did Ryu just wake up with an axe kick? Did he just assume I would stand there and do nothing? Am I really so bad people assume I will eat a random wake-up axe kick? That dude really fucked with my self-esteem.

You right… SFV isn’t worth 60$. It’s worth the 200$ + I’ve spent so far.

Jesus Christ some of you guys are completely delusional
Any game you’ve played for hundreds of hours is probably worth the 60 bucks.
