I liked the Vanilla SFIV announcer. The Super/AE/Ultra announcer was too goofy for me.
I don’t mind the SFV announcer. More serious, less game show announcer tone like the Tekken announcers. I like that. Just gets to the point without feeling like you’re on the Price is Right.
I like the KOF XIV announcers. They’re all over the place and have both a man and a woman announcing.
“Youuuuu’re a Beast!”
“Godlike!”
“Perfect Victory!”
“Hahahahaha! (This is after you K.O. someone lol)”
A decent amount of that is fake though, as I’d spend a crap-ton of time leaving the game on and not actually playing it when I’m working on frame data (in case I need to go back and re-record something).
Vanilla SF4’s announcer always sounded…out of it to me. Like he wasn’t fully invested in what was going on but was still trying to sound excited.
SSF4’s announcer sounded hype as heck that there was a fight going on and was going to let you know about it.
I have a question to test this thread knowledge, which character has a target combo that does not actually combo ?
the spoiler below contain the answer.
I have 139 on PC. I have at least that much on PS4. When I tweeted at the SFV bot for my game count, I had 100 more games played on PS4. Kinda of surprised by that. I’ve played on PC mostly for months. I’ve only been logging on PS4 to complete the FM challenges.
