Yeah but we also have Necalli, Ken, Laura, Bison, Juri, and to a lesser degree Karin who fish for CC st.hk all the time. And I can’t really blame them since they are typically safe unless blocked like point blank, but give a full combo on CH.
I like CC’s in theory but I just can’t stand how prevalent they are in neutral when playing sometimes.
The main thing I hated about 4 besides Ultra’s was the constant spam of people trying to FA me. Even when you learn to deal with it, you get tired of always dealing with it.
That’s because miggas seeing Daigo doing 3 point blank sweeps and now it’s the new hotness. Karin sweep while on paper is punishable on block feels like it’s 10 yards away.
And Fang just sucks so why not.
Also people say that if Cammy had an OH she’d be broken. I think everyone assumes all Cammy mains play like Xiao Hai or some shit.
Of course that is a free slide everytime they whiff one of those moves.
My point is people hitting those buttons 1000 times a match because it will be worth it if they CH you one time, or because their CC normal is that much better than their other options.
Whether or not they are easy to whiff punish is besides the point.
I absolutely understand why Cammy doesn’t have or really need an overhead. I think what’s difficult about understanding Cammy is what her purpose in this game is supposed to be. When I first started playing seriously with her opening up people seemed liked an impossible task.
But that’s because all I knew how to do as a bronze Cammy was medium into medium. I didn’t have her strings or frame traps down. I didn’t know how to IADK.
Now that I’m Super Gold I can see clearly why she doesn’t need an overhead. The work thqt Cammy has to put into getting people to hang themselves is the price I have to pay for what she can do when she gets in.
I dunno why Cammy players keep crying about not having one. Overheads are not even that good…okay to end the round but even that is pretty predictable. Besides the ninja and boxer iirc, you can’t even combo into them. It would be great if we could at least on CH.
Yeah it’s pretty much Ninja and Boxer for being able to combo off overhead without a meaty or counter hit. Chun Li’s V Trigger of course gives her access to comboable overhead.
I hate MKX, but if there is anything that game does right it’s overheads. You absolutely can not sleep during a block string, and it makes it so you actually have to guess between blocking high or low.
Compared to other fighters where you downback until you see them doing an overhead or jump in, which is often easily reactable.
It makes blocking a lot more dynamic, which I like.
Yeah to me MKX is like a 3d fighter in a 2d world. You always have to check your head when you’re watching your feet. Some people think that’s random of course though. Especially with how close to unreactable some of the overheads are.
I was at my friends house and I got dicked like 10 rounds in a row between the block button and getting tagged by fast overheads. When I finally got used to to blocking I could actually start to fight back. It was a mind fuck for me lol.
There isn’t even anything random about it either. If a move looks like it hits high it probably does. I feel Ryu b.hk would hit high in MK.
If you know they will be fishing for the move it should be easier for you to punish. Your opponent being predictable is good for you. Sounds like free jump-ins to me.
That’s like saying it isn’t annoying for people to jump and you 20 times a match because they are hanging themselves. Whether or not I shut it down every time is irrelevant. It’s annoying and kills the fun.
This is almost the same bullshit logic I see Mika mains use all time. I could body every Mika player I see, but it doesn’t make fighting against her any less of a chore. Disliking something does not mean you struggle against it.
