The Street Fighter V Lounge: Tron Bonne rumored as DLC

Sisqo still alive?

Also the iPhone autocorrects sisqo to dissapointment. There’s levels to this shit.

Sisqo ducking the match? I just wanna hear Thong Song live one more time.

Still waiting for Project Pat vs Tokido.

I’m still not a big fan of CC sweep…that’s one aspect of the game mechanics I dislike the most.

The more time goes on the less impressed I am with Nash. He just doesn’t seem nearly as good as he was looking 2-3 months ago.

Too easy. :sunglasses:

Is this an @otter bat signal disguised as a statement?

@Twinblades Stop jumping so much. Can’t complain about anti-airs if you actually have a ground game. :coffee:

Why? That makes complete sense compared to how bad sweep is on block and in line with the game’s heavy’s. If anything CC Sweep makes more sense to me than standard crush counters.

I kind of agree. Generally the only way you are getting a CH sweep is by throwing it out randomly, which just seems like an odd thing to encourage. Especially when you can already VTC to make those YOLO sweeps safe.

It doesn’t bother me immensely, but I don’t really see the point of it either. If they wanted to make sweeps more rewarding, I’d rather they make them like throws where you can’t back rise from them. Alternatively, they could have made sweeps CC if they connect during your opponent’s recovery frames, since that would encourage using sweep as a whiff punish rather than a YOLO poke.

Getting Mika’d is more frustrating to me. I can process better what’s going wrong if someone is out laming me and it usually takes more decisions to defeat someone doing that instead of going “wtf just happened”.

@Highlandfireball Quark’s statement in bold is exactly why I don’t like it that much. Don’t get me wrong I definitely benefit from it, but I think it ruins the ground game a little. It makes no sense to me that Ryu can throw out sweep twice in a row and luck up with CC because I attempt to whiff punish his first sweep. I also developed a bad habit of crouching a lot because I’m trying to watch my toes.

I definitely will be fine with taking out the HKD on CC sweeps. The concept seemed intereseting, but in practice feel like a really random thing to allow set play from and some sweeps are tough to punish with much more than a sweep depending on distance. Especially with how fast the dashes are trying to prepare for max range sweep or dash up grab and not getting counter hit by the sweep trying to stop the dash gets rather annoying. Not to mention the priority system that allows them to get more mileage than they already would. Something that already forces you to block low gets a bit too rewarding when its also HKD on counter hit with slight V Gauge build.

Won’t be disappointed if they stay, but definitely would be happier with something else being implemented instead that doesn’t cause HKD. I’d even take slight more V Gauge build over the HKD.

I like CC sweeps and CC of all kinds actually. I like things that increase offense. HKD Increases offense so I like it. With sweeps as bad as they are in this game I think it’s a welcome addition. I also like the idea of sweeps hitting like throws…, then again I already suggested that.

Sweeps can only be combod into on CH so I like the idea of no backrise on them. But if that DID happen I’d want them to be able to be backrised if they were combod into.

I’ve been going about everything all wrong. I shouldn’t have been trying to get gud, trying to improve only makes you worse!

…yes, this is from a Smash player.

Throwing something out randomly is basically - A fighting game.

Risk - Counter sweep or full combo
Reward - Knock down or CC counter hit

If you want to make sweeps non- CC then you better make the actual sweep better, since most sweep start ups are too high for traditional footsies unless you’re punishing an extremely telegraphed move like a Chun slide or a Mika slide. Whiff punishing with a 7-8 frame sweep that’s punishable on block is a far cry from the 5-6 frame safe sweeps in SF4. The lag obviously doesn’t help here either.

I think maybe if all sweeps could be made safe or push the opponent back further then it might make sense. Who’s going to use a -12-15 on block sweep for no reward?

Definitely from a Smash player. Probably took a shit in the local pool after.

I actually like that idea…no backrise if the sweep is combed from counterhit.

At least you guys have a proper sweep. The slide can’t punish shit.

But I still love you, slide.

We’re talking about Lord Bison, right?
Not entirely true. I’ve whiff punish certain normal/moves with slide. For example in the Gief MU, you can whiff punish the charge punch if you know the distance instead of letting him get away with it.

I mean if you want this work boi come get it this…uh Wednesday I think… shit I’ll @ you when I’m on

Not gonna let this shit slide doe
