It appeals well to the dude bros type that would like the aesthetic of a MK game. I personally don’t like most of the Western main stream culture except the Super Heros stuff. Other than that, i don’t find anything to like in disgusting gore, unnecessary swearing and lame ass one liners everywhere.
Games like COD, Gears of War, God of War and others, basically thrive on people liking these aesthetics.
F.mk has throw invincibility like Guile’s upside-down kick…but is -3 on block so might as well just shimmy.
All of his teleports technically only have one invincibility frame, just that one invincibility frame covers the super freeze. Which explains why he sometimes gets bopped by projectiles while passing through the opponent on the grounded one.
You can throw Nash during his V-reversal’s start-up, but he goes fully invincible on frame 15 and isn’t vulnerable again until frame 41. He’s only vulnerable to strikes during the last 3 frames, so if you try to throw him he can just backdash out.
His V-skill doesn’t have 8 active frames. It can only hit people for 2 frames, the rest are for absorbing fireballs. Which helps explain why it’s more prone to getting beat when used as a poke instead of at least trading (it does have good reach and is disjointed).
Western developers can’t model women properly. So MK will never be near Street Fighters level because all of Boons characters have Lego shaped faces with stop sign chins.
Give Mortal Kombat to Atlus with a big budget and let them work.
In a good game your tittays need to be bigger than your head and your nippies smaller than your pupils.
Ryu and Alex are hot because their pupil to nipped ratio is just right.
Sagat has no sex appeal because Ryu scorched his nippers the fuck off. But Sagat has one eye with no pupils…so that’s a rarity which will produces sales regardless.
Shiiit…I’ll take Quan Cheese any day of the week over annoying Mika (and yes, I understand the MU).
At least I had fun dealing with him unlike Mika. It’s just the same corner carry, jumpy gameplay. It’s rare that I’ll come across a more fuudo like Mika player.
I’m not saying FANG doesn’t fit in SF, I just didn’t get calling MKX cartoony when FANG is more exaggerated than anything in MKX. The way he sounds, walks, and runs is like something taken out of a really cheesy 80’s movie.
Even then, the movie characters in MKX fit quite well. MKX is fiction - any sort of violent, quasi-human/monster will probably fit in the game fine.
That is the only thing that would make that make sense.
Otherwise he can only be trolling.
Capcom and Tekken are masters of releasing the same game with 2 new characters 3682628 times.
Even still in modern times that is not accurate. Tekken needs alot of help which is why Capcom loaned them Akuma. SFV was a disaster at launch . Meanwhile NRS and Smash are scrooge mcducking it up.
Yeah I was never a big MK person other than the first 2. Even when I was a kid I didn’t like how all of the characters normals looked the same and had similar hit boxes. When i played SF I liked how each characters normals made you feel like you were playing a different character.
The newer games still don’t do much for me. Just don’t like the mechanics or the super dark aesthetic.
No shit. MKX is the Call of Duty of fighting games and Smash is a party brawler, both aimed as the most casual audience, of-fucking-course they sold a lot of copies (11 million for Smash 4 and 4 million for MKX)
Still fond of the first three but MK went sour for me after MK4. I guess MKX brought me back due to Kotal Khan alone and maybe the overall aesthetic of the game. I actually find the dark and grim appearances of several of the characters to be very appealing on the ps4.
Hey nothing wrong with diversity. If you guys like MK that’s cool. And this isn’t me being a weeabo because I think Skull Girls and KI are fucking fantastic fighting games.
