I just like being entertained by the people that come in the SFV thread with the âI play this game and SFV isnât all thatâ shit. Im used to it after playing KI and Marvel 3 though. Ill listen to your story
Capcom players like Capcom. Dive Kick could have 2 million dollar prize pots but theyâll stay with Capcom.
I would imagine NRS wouldnât suddenly all jump ship to Smash if it was 3 or 4 million prize pots either. People still play what they like even with all the money flying around
On another note that isnât useless bickering - characters without reversals feel more interesting to play with. Youâre forced into defending against options you could otherwise retaliate to. I like that.
Look, letâs call a spade a spade here. MK always has and always will be popular for one reason. Itâs not that itâs âeasyâ. Itâs not that itâs a more complete game than others. Itâs not the content. It has violence. Fucktons of violence. Not saying it doesnât have merits as a fighting game, or that the last couple of games havenât had a ton of well-produced content, just stating the obvious. Casuals donât go âoh, this game has hours of single player contentâ they go âholy shit, Alien just impaled that dude, this is the coolest shit ever!â NRS knows it, we know it, everyone knows it, and anyone who says otherwise is a goddamn liar. All that extra stuff helps sales for sure, but if they stripped out fatalities, brutalities, x-rays and all the gore, the games wouldnât sell half of what they do even with the same content. Fatalities are what bring the casuals to the table.
I mean there were so many saying it was so easy to win in MKX right?
Then pull a Xiao hai and body everyone in both games and get free money. Thatâs what he did in KOF. Itâs easy to play so no problem according to some.
BTW Top MKXL and Capcom players would definitely play Smash on the side if it was easy for them. At least if the money was right .
The thing that irks me the most about mkx is the amount of movie characters. Itâs cartoony really, could you imagine SF5 with special guest character Rocky Balboa
Early MK9 the Capcom players were actually winning stuff, but then NRS diehards starting going hard and it was a wrap for them.
I dunno. The way I see it they usually come up with excuses for why they donât have to play it. Once the game starts pissing them off its easier to get pissed off by their familiar IP instead
Correction: Justin was winning stuff. Justin was also one of the testers in the game and part of the thing that lead to the whole no testers in tournaments backlash.
