Nah nigga, I’m not. I’ve been playing Street Fighter for 5 years now. Have I improved at all? Nope. I still play like a fucking retard, I still DP on wakeup, I still do other dumb for which I get punished properly, I still get crossed up all the time, I still don’t understand basic things like meaties or frame traps, and it’s a miracle if I ever climb up to Silver league in SFV
All I’m capable of in fighting games:
making shitposts on SRK all day
make useless threads on r/StreetFighter
whine how I can’t do certain shit or blame the hardware (Dualshock 4) I’m using
sometimes make ok posts in the story thread which maybe 10 people on this forum give a shit about
so yeah… fighting games on a level beyond brainless mashing are not for me. Still sometimes have fun with them though. Just not when I get my ass 0-2’d all the time online
I should have made my last post clearer. I got pulled into a meeting so posted what I had up.
I think more people will attend EVO, I just can’t see more people competing in SFV. This happens every year where the new hot game is out, a lot of people join in the first year, then the numbers drop. I can only see SFV maintaining if something new comes down from Capcom to lure potmonsters back.
The only people who care about smash numbers are smash players. I care about all of the other games that came up with the scene and now have to eat a dick to Nintendo shit.
Jesus man. I mean I suck to… but it’s not like you can’t get better. When you say you’ve been playing for 5 years is that causally or with a drive to be better?
I was button mashing till SFV first beta. Then I started to learn.
I’m only Ultra Silver so you know I sucks dick but you can only go up man. I stil do stupid shit all the time to. Just ask @Mesenkomaha and he’ll give you a blow by blow of how to destroy me with Gief of all characters lol
I just picked Smash because they’re the only games who can compete with SF in number of entrants. You can compare with other actual fighting games, none of them performed nearly as good as SF5. I can’t even think of how it would fare if it didn’t have such a bad press - which probably wouldn’t be as bad if the expectations for this game weren’t sky high.
First time posting here in a bit. I come back and see talks about how well SF5 will do at Evo2017 and talk of an impending 8 hour maintenance…lol peace
Marvel is hard to crack into now. There are so many titans that if you’re a new guy, you’re just gonna have to eat dick for a long time before you get decent. That and the solidified Meta just isn’t as entertaining as Marvel 2. Yeah boi.
I would be legitimately shocked if it was less. Almost assuredly more people for next year. Only way there would be less people is if somehow both smashes got moved away. Between Tekken 7 hitting proper, first years for kof 14 and injustice spiking numbers, and I believe sf5 will hit just as hard or harder next yet it should be a big dang deal.
I agree, launch year imo is the strongest point SFV will have for about a year or two. I think it’ll still average 2K though, the smash games still average about 1K and I wanna say that the SF community is at least twice as strong.
However, depending on how they handle the gameplay changes + S2 characters at the end of the CPT it could rake in 3K. Bad launch press is one of the main things I see affecting it’s attendance. That being said it could make up for the dip with more viewership on twitch and better production values on ESPN.
Around the same attendees, but definitely more viewers.
It’s funny, I kind of consider locals the “real” tournaments. Twitch spectators kind of get a distorted view of the fgc. I mean I love majors, but I can only go to one or two a year now that the Midwest has dried up.
