The Street Fighter V Lounge - Smashas in the Club Doing Aegis Reflector

Yeah there’s no way you could have actually went to Evo and be like “yeah there’s going to be less people next year”. There’s going to be more and Wizard better be ready.

Too bad I wasn’t asked, I have all the EVO 2017 attendance number right here in my crystal ball. Oh well.

Probably gonna be a lot less. From what I could tell, a lot of the players there this year were scrub levels. They might improve but chances are they won’t and by then a lot of the top players will have gotten even better. I’d say this game would drop by about 1500-2000 entrants in 2017.

That is unless Capcom drastically changes the game with next year’s update.

I’m honored that I’m not a pleb :slight_smile:

And feel it will be less unless Capcom makes big changes for season and the roster is hype.

Hard to say. Main variables being:

  • the prize pot for next year’s tour
  • the health of the franchise, aka how much will they be able to improve the game without making the entire playerbase angry in the process
  • if Infil retires and lets other people win something

On the other hand, I don’t believe a single sec that T7 or I2 will steal players from SF5.

(And stop quoting this madman without deleting all the tags ffs, my notification box is exploding)

Nah. That’s the whole point of Evo now. It’s a convention, not just a tournament. The scrubs enter just to be part of the tournament and the experience. A lot of them know they’re going to lose but just go to see how high they can place. Not to mention check out all the vendors and other convention shit. The more people that are allowed to enter, the higher the scrubs can place any ways due to them only having to knock each other out in early brackets.

Anybody want a quick FT5 before the servers are down for 8 hours?

I think SFV will drop no doubt. Maybe to about 3500-4000, still the most popular game at the show.

However Evo as a whole will grow like crazy. Tekken 7 (maybe), injustice 2, KoF 14 are all new titles vying for main stage time.

I think Evo Japan will hurt international numbers somewhat but harada and Ono said Evo Japan won’t feature the same games Evo US does. So expect games like GG to drop a bit as those international travelers may just op to travel to Japan instead.

Logic says SFV can’t break 5k again but trends show Evo getting bigger every single year so while SFV will drop, Evo will grow

@OceanSalt

Sorry if i wasnt clear
I meant EVO as a whole
Of course t7 or i2 wont steal players from sfv

My logic says that unless another Capcom game launches, the numbers can only go up. Only Capcom games steal numbers from Capcom games.

I’M DOWN! cfn tyflosion invite me!

Let’s do this. Invite sent.

Also @Fatal1ty_93_RUS as far as your cross up situation is concerned, if they are going for CU and you can’t dp in time you just have to hold that. Is it the cu itself giving you trouble or the pressure afterwards?

This game gives you the perfect restart tool in v reversal, use it. After cross up is blocked they are most likely going to be pressing buttons, get them off of you or better yet Dp that ass till they start respecting you.

When I play bison especially against the grappler types when I don’t AA I’m constantly hitting v reversal after one block. Don’t want them niggas messing up my leathery cape.

I want to play too!

All games show an increase of interest and tournament entrants yes, but none did see the numbers increasing exponentially like SF in any event. Just compare the entrants for the two Smash games to those for SF:

Melee: 1,869 (2015) -> 2,372 (2016)
Sm4sh: 1,926 (2015) -> 2,662 (2016)
SF: 2,227 (2015) -> 5,107 (2016)

Smash games gained 500-700 players each… but none of them had an increase of 150% of players at EVO.

@Fatal1ty_93_RUS
Ryu’s stLP is stupidly good for CU
It tracks retardedly

I saw a 150% increase on my dick

@risemix

did I just play vs you? I ran into you like a few weeks ago, if that’s you playing that Chun

GGs and see you again since the MM is working good these days :slight_smile:
