Yeah there’s no way you could have actually went to Evo and be like “yeah there’s going to be less people next year”. There’s going to be more and Wizard better be ready.
Probably gonna be a lot less. From what I could tell, a lot of the players there this year were scrub levels. They might improve but chances are they won’t and by then a lot of the top players will have gotten even better. I’d say this game would drop by about 1500-2000 entrants in 2017.
That is unless Capcom drastically changes the game with next year’s update.
Nah. That’s the whole point of Evo now. It’s a convention, not just a tournament. The scrubs enter just to be part of the tournament and the experience. A lot of them know they’re going to lose but just go to see how high they can place. Not to mention check out all the vendors and other convention shit. The more people that are allowed to enter, the higher the scrubs can place any ways due to them only having to knock each other out in early brackets.
I think SFV will drop no doubt. Maybe to about 3500-4000, still the most popular game at the show.
However Evo as a whole will grow like crazy. Tekken 7 (maybe), injustice 2, KoF 14 are all new titles vying for main stage time.
I think Evo Japan will hurt international numbers somewhat but harada and Ono said Evo Japan won’t feature the same games Evo US does. So expect games like GG to drop a bit as those international travelers may just op to travel to Japan instead.
Logic says SFV can’t break 5k again but trends show Evo getting bigger every single year so while SFV will drop, Evo will grow
Also @Fatal1ty_93_RUS as far as your cross up situation is concerned, if they are going for CU and you can’t dp in time you just have to hold that. Is it the cu itself giving you trouble or the pressure afterwards?
This game gives you the perfect restart tool in v reversal, use it. After cross up is blocked they are most likely going to be pressing buttons, get them off of you or better yet Dp that ass till they start respecting you.
When I play bison especially against the grappler types when I don’t AA I’m constantly hitting v reversal after one block. Don’t want them niggas messing up my leathery cape.
All games show an increase of interest and tournament entrants yes, but none did see the numbers increasing exponentially like SF in any event. Just compare the entrants for the two Smash games to those for SF:
