I think the game can be good if they put the effort into making playstyles more varied at the end of the year when they rebalance. They played it way too safe in all the wrong ways for their first release, but as long as they don’t fucking nerf things that aren’t even good (some kick CCs can afford to be nerfed IMO and that’s about it so far) and listen to the complaints I think it can be pretty fun.
I don’t hate the game as much as I did during beta, but it’s wearing on me more and more at a rapid pace. I can only watch CC spam into HOLY SHIT IT HIT into 35% so many times before it starts to remind me of the garbage that was sf4 focus attack.
I never complain about the 8f delay for one reason and one reason only:
I didn’t know shit about it until someone kindly pointed it out. I’ve been playing the game since launch and still not very good at it but to say “oh I suck because of the 8f delay, now I know why I can’t win matches”
Naw nigga, I only have a 50% win rate because I’m really, really ass out this bitch. The 8f delay could get fixed right fucking now and my win rate won’t increase worth a fuck. Why? Cause I fucking suck that’s why. I’m still in super silver…lol.
Should Capcom do something about getting it fixed? Absolutely no fucking questions asked. I’m just not going to sit here and act like I knew the entire time, when in fact…I didn’t.
I disagree on everyone playing the same. cammy is the only character with the same straight forward plan really, but the ken trio play him differently;tokido, bonchan and daigo play ryu differently. Lets not act like we didn’t see people playing e.ryu, yun, poison, Bison, elena in some kind of uniformed way. Infiltration had the lamest nash out there compared to the other cc heavy nash player.
I agree, especially with the part in bold. It really has in it the potential to surpass all Street Fighters before it on so many levels. Capcom really just got to focus and pull its shit together. We can get there in 2-3 years of slow, steady, and incremental improvements in the right direction. #believe#fightforthefuture
I think once capcom tends to the majority of obvious issues (lack of single player content) I think people will be less annoyed. However if you’re not a fan how SFV plays now I doubt that will change anytime soon.
From what I’ve been seeing, the problem plenty of people have with the game is on a purely mechanical level. R/Kappa, GameFAQs(at times when it’s not being shilling till the end of days) and even here and on Youtube, the problems people have is honestly something that can’t be fixed with a balance patch.
The honest issue I see is the approach Capcom went with. To make a “safe and fair game”, they basically gutted out anything that could give the game that extra depth and even when there have been some made due to patches, they immediately patched it out. Even if they make the game more risky with patches…how risky can they actually get with this system? Even V-Trigger(both that and V-Skill) really could have been something of a true gamechanger with each character gaining something unique and ultimately deep with each character…and nope, it’s pretty much pure offense that rarely changes the options.
Basically in my own terms, I can’t see SFV becoming any better than it is now no matter how many times they rebalance characters or make new V-Skills and Triggers and new CA’s. The issue is at a pure mechnical and the “forcefulness” of keeping to this meta, the game is pretty much going to be exactly the same. Those who like it will still be playing it…but those who don’t…well, they will still be part of the hate group with no changing them or the casuals.
Well we just had a discussion a few months ago about people who praised and actively played SFIV suddenly criticizing it and denouncing it the minute SFIV was taken out of tournament circuits. “Oh yeah that game I commentated and got top 8s at for years, yeah that shit wasn’t that hot”
Im not talking about critics or people saying what’s wrong. That’s a fan that wants more.
I’m specifically talking about people saying sfv is shitty or boring or not fun. Reduction in input lag or punishment for rage quits won’t change the core game.
They’re fans too. If you post here you a fan of how good or bad it is. Talking about the game you like is boring because well, who’s gonna talk about it here any way? More interesting to talk about that boring shit game with the 5000 entrants
Anybody here bout to ask anyone else for sets in Xrd or MKX in a few hours? If so raise your hands. What about DOA5? Anybody wanna go at that in a few? Nah? Alright lets just talk about V then
Well i remember in Sf4 for a while there were people saying the game was shitty and boring. Then with sfxt people said the game was shitty and boring.
This taught me that at some point, whether the game is shitty or not, the people saying those things go away and play something else and call that game shitty and boring on those boards.
