I dont know the the current thoughts are at the minute with character strengths, but I’ve sort of jigged my thoughts a bit.

I think Ken and Necalli are top 2, the damage including meterless is just too high for the risk of the buttons they use to put it out, crush counters everywhere best in class that are pretty much impossible to punish due to the large variance in the distances, Necalli is a complete zoning beast that controls so much of the screen with an insanely good standing jab that will beat anything including cross ups for a reset. Ken is the opposite, but he has the ability to make you push buttons into his large damage and force you to attack. After that I think then comes Chun-Li and Karin in a bracket. Then I’d put Nash and Ryu in a bracket after that. The rest of the characters I think are significantly worse than Necalli and Ken and slightly worse than Ryu and Nash. Mika is solid and probably high mid, Laura I think is firmly mid tier with some potential. Cammy I’m not sure yet, I’ve not played enough good Cammy’s. Rashid I’m still convinced is ass.

I’ve just woken up but I’ll categorize characters in 3 easy to place spots - high, mid and low.

High - Ryu, Ken, Karin, Chun, Necalli, Nash, Vega

Mid - Dhalsim, Birdie, Laura, Cammy, Mika, Guile, Bison

Low - Zangief, Alex, FANG, Rashid

As I imagine Ibuki in my head, she’ll be in the upper tier I think. Alex could be mid, but I fail to see why at the moment. Rashid has potential but I think he just plain sucks.

FANG & Gief are dead in the water, they suck.

Personally I don’t think Vega is anywhere near Necalli/Ken/Chun level. I agree with this mostly though apart from Alex. Unless you’re putting the characters in order of strength within those brackets.

What else can someone really need from a fighting game?

Good tutorials, Gallery as a side unlock, not shitty survival, useful trials, and an arcade mode. Those are the things you’d need from my point of view. Those are things most fighting games typically have.

I would love a gallery mode similar to their japanese “lore” website where all that new artwork is coming from.

I don’t think Bison is true mid. He’s upper low tier, and if I want to be generous/optimistic he’s lower mid tier.

Even though he has one of the best if not the best CA in the game, and a great VT, the character needs v-reversals and ex specials to win. The more I play him the more I realize his VT is situational and you are better off with the option of v-reversals on hand.

Well it isn’t fair to gimp him or any character like that. He doesn’t even deal outstanding damage compared to others to warrant this kind of treatment.

Patch 2017 can’t come any sooner IMO.

If Alex got meaty pressure off more things I would def put him in upper mid. How he is right now though I would say he’s with the bottom. Fang I think is a bit underrated. Xian is showing his potential, but he definitely has some awful matchups though lol.

Vega has a steep learning curve with how he interacts in neutral and has to constantly space correctly. He’s probably quite a strain on the brain if you’re trying to play him effectively against a rushdown character who continually tries to get in. (Cammy, Ken)

A-Tier: Karin, Dhalsim, Cammy, Vega

B-Tier: Alex, Birdie, Mika, Laura

C-Tier: Guile, Rashid, Bison

D-Tier: FANG, Zangief

This is what I think the rankings will basically end up being. Sometimes I think Necalli is just simply A, but that nigga is retarded. Other than that this is basically my opinion on the tiers for this game. The character listings are in no order. Just the rankings (S,A,B,C etc.) . IMO the top 5 is: Necalli, Ryu, Ken, Nash and Chun-Li.

Laura may be too high. Guile also may be too low on my list, but after getting matchup experience against Guile I don’t find him threatening at all. . Ken may be too high as well. I just know FANG and Zangief are the fucking worst.

So wassup… played Overwatch from morning all the way to the end of saturday and Sunday, game is way too good and addicting.

While playing it I actually forgot about SFV entirely lol, it sure doesn’t have much SP content but online is so good it doesn’t even matter. Wish SFV was this way when it comes to online play :V
