Lol, no one talking about the Japanese CPT stream, which will be filled with killers?
No wonder you folks thing the game is dying. You don’t leave this stupid forum.
Steam community accounts for like 10 percent of the SF5 player base, and you can return games 2 hours after trying them out for whatever reason.
Use Steam as an indication of anything at your own risk.
I would think NBA 2k sells better than madden, but it has zero competitive scene (or pro scene I should say)
Don’t really care about SF4 or what happens to it in the future. As the great Dolpf would say. If he dies…he dies
Also I’ll say this about rainbow six siege. It’s nothing like CS:go. They have zero chance of getting that adhd spaz bro crowd and quite frankly they shouldn’t want them. They would force the game to change into some bullshit twitch shooter clone which that game is the complete opposite of. Please rainbow six siege is actually a good game, don’t ruin it.
Any of you niggas play evolve? Just copped for 9 bucks at GameStop.
A big issue right now is its uncertain this game will even please the stream monsters in the long run. There’s already grumblings of it being boring to watch, and I tend to agree. If SFV doesn’t bring the hype in Evo’s top 16, it will not be a good look.
They grumbled that SFIV was boring to watch, but kept watching it any way. I think SFV has more potential to be fun to watch in the long run, it’s just the base of the game is simple. Game is still getting the largest stream numbers and the monsters generally still get hype when something interesting happens. The stream monsters sure aren’t running to the more fun to watch games.
I don’t give a fuck about streams. Only gameplay I really care about is my own and the opponents I face. If I’m watching streams, it’s out of sheer boredom or it’s because I’m taking notes on future opponents. Either way, I have no reason to waste my time watching live when I can cherry pick matches later.
Not at all…
I’m honestly using EVO as the ultimate crutch myself…
Been tuning in, watching SF tourney play through NLBC, WNF and The Break along with other tournies whenever there isn’t something else I want to watch. And none of them have really swayed me into even bothering seeing the game competitively as something to really care for.
Even my own brother last time I checked barely plays SFV when he and friends went ham on SFIV. If EVO seriously doesn’t cut it…well, that’s it.
Not all the Stream Monsters are trolls…but all the trolls are Stream Monsters.
SF4 was “boring to watch” for 8 years. Still got a quarter of a million views last year at EVO as Elena lamed Chun Li out for what seemed like 3 hours.
Stop listening to stream monsters. They don’t have your best interests in mind.
I thought Infiltration vs Gamerbee last year was incredibly hype lol. I guess to each their own. And as much as I found the past couple of SoCal tourneys to be snoozefests, Combobreaker’s top 8 was pretty hype, so I’ve got some hope.
Like, it’s so obvious that the fundamental gameplay principles in SFxT created SF5. Punishable reversals, focus on ground game, alpha counters, no hard knockdowns…
That’s why it’s godlike.
BTW:
Hmm…new players showing up for SF5 during this Japan tourney. I guess SF5 isn’t attracting “casuals”. It’s attracting “casuals who want to compete in tourneys”…which are probably more valuable for the competitive scene that Capcom is so heavily courting.
Hindsight is a beautiful thing. It must have been a difficult decision for the producers. Either stick to the tried and trusted disc version release or go for something with a little bit more scope. It was the a decent idea to do what they did considering the other games around them, but for whatever reason be it funding, staff or ability, they stumbled through it a bit.
I personally thought a disc version could reset the bad press and gather more interest, but now they sort of can’t go back on the model after taking people season pass cash. The thing with the disc versions is that they offer a lot more content for that one time hit, they also have a space on a shelf where people can see they shiny new version and be tempted to give it another shot, where as the chances of you getting someone to buy/download a full game just because they put Juri and a couple of stages is pretty slim considering Capcom don’t even make a big deal of their own content.
