The only reasonable nerf I can see Abigail taking is having VT1 turned into a 3-Bar VT.
Dude deals a ton of damage, sure, but his wakeup is kinda bad to say the least. If you can put him in the blender, he’s toast. He also has slower buttons to compensate for their reach and power.
People need to learn the matchup. Fools were legit lost against him.

Nope. The reason why sf4 is dead is because it has no official support from capcom and because it isn’t the last game in its numbered series. 3s is the last sf3 game.
It pretty much always goes that the last game in the numbered series is the one played. This pretty much goes on until a new numbered series game comes out. The only game tha5 really survives past that rule is A2 and even then it’s because A2 and A3 are so completely different.
ST is the last In it’s series, 3s in its series, sf5 in its series.
Sf4 may one day have a revival but that will probably only be after a new series comes up and people have to make a choice between sf4,5,6 or 7 whatever.
Sf4 also has booty online and it will naturally split with sf5, the newest game in the series and given the choice most players are going to play whatever is newest because that is what has the most stuff to learn and therefor is the most fun.
SF4 as an example pretty much killed 3s in the states at the very least. Some stalwarts still play but they are few and fa4 between and Japan plays literally everything so they are no benchmark. They still play the shit out of sf4 as an example… and it don’t mean anything because they play everything.
Gief. Abi at least isn’t a grappler, you can block whatever he does. Gief has armor moves too, but once put Karin down on her ass it’s blender time.
Abigail has slow normals, but he can throw them anyway from the right range. He hasn’t a reversal,but blocking and V-Reversal are defensive tools too. His wonky hurtboxes can make you miss your meaties in the heat of the battle,good luck if he has meter on your whiff then. Full VT meter Abi is scary.
Honestly this argument us kinda bonkers. He have poor defensive options but he have a fuck ton of health and he can kill you in 2 guesses, maybe even 1 guess in some cases.

Yeah, kill Abi takes time and better don’t miss anything or your health bar gets obliterated with a guess. We were all on Mika’s neck because of the retarded wall bounce Irish Whip,but not on Abigail? Not even Mika has a reversal.
Oh and Zekus hozanto needs a lot more block stun. Obnoxious piece of shit. Just imagine how much trouble it would be to punish unsafe moves. If they all had the same block stun as hozanto.
I see your point, but does Abi have the oki to really make you guess like that? Most times, Abi has to beat you in neutral. He is a character that forces both players to read correctly and condition the opponent.
I’m not saying he’s bad by any stretch of the word, after all, he needs less guesses than the rest of the cast. That does not mean he’s unbalanced. His wakeup is wack, he’s like Rog without a 3f and TAP.
3s is played a healthy amount in the states especially for a game as old as it is and lately it’s been picking up a bit again with no support from Capcom. Cooperative Cup and The Fall Classic alone have been larger than any SFIV tourney since the mass exodus from SFIV and had good entrants for any fighting game that isn’t a big recent title.
USFIV was the last in it’s series and while you are right of course SFV siphoned players from SFIV. When it’s time to play SFIV there is not many taking up the call right now in relative to how many people bitch that SFV sucks and SFIV is a far better game online. I dunno if I dislike something I will just lose interest and go back to what I like or play another series. Maybe people need more time to actually miss SFIV enough to play it.
Yes he does. His oki Is incredibly strong in the corner. Even midscreen too is pretty good.
It is not Gief or Akuma tier oki but it is still incredibly strong. VT is a top 5 VTs in the game. The issue isn’t just the options, it is about how damaging they are. We are talking about 400ish damage with an EX command grab in V.
