Funny thing is that the execution stuff is often emphasized by MikeZ (who for the most part loves 3S) and Seth Killian. Not saying equally, but they bring up simplification of execution and the importance of getting what you want, when you want it. Instead of fighting the controls. That is why Mike has super be one quarter circle and only two buttons (obviously not viable in a game with EX moves). Has no pretzel inputs and avoids SRK inputs for the most part. Making execution easier with the intent of allowing players to get what they want seems to be a common theme among those on the development side of fighting games.

Was there a reason why SFV doesn’t have Region Lock? Or a option to select what regions we want to open? Frame skipping command grabs isn’t quite fun.

The latest post about RQ punishment is a testament to how clueless Capcom is.

Is it just me or do the characters not stand out enough from the backgrounds on some of the stages? I mean I guess some of the characters colors are part of the reason, and I do play quite far back from my monitor though because its too big to play close. Maybe it’s the game speed but sometimes I completely lose track of where my opponent is lol.

What do you mean? From my experience SFV pretty much already has the lock - I haven’t faced a single Asian or American player, only been getting matched with Europeans

There’s a lot in the game that’s not user friendly, for as much as they tried to make things simple. The counter hit message is dumb, especially on the darker stages, it should have been either an audible sound or a flash. If not just make the writing bigger or positioned better.

Hit stun is the same, I find my twitch reactions are borderline between hit and block stun animations, crush counter is perfect, but general play is harder to decipher. Perhaps I’ll get used it.

I know in Battle Lounges it’s a no holds bar with regions. I haven’t played Rank in a few days so I’m not sure about that mode…

I just know USF4 had the option. I don’t mind playing foreign players but it’s always a 50/50 chance.

Either way if it’s “fixed” in rank then no biggie…we have greater issues anyway

It seems very common in lower ranks for people to just pick the flag they like rather than where they are from lol. For some reason half the people i play are Japanese hmmmm

CHs should have a slightly different sound or add like an audible “ping!” sound on top of normal hit sfx, something that would be instantly recognizable and stand out. CHs should also have a distinctlydifferent hitspark effect, like a totally different color. They already do this for armor absorbs. Different hitstop is not a good idea since it could lead to CH only OSes, just like how there are crush counter only OSes right now.

A colorblind option seems like a good idea too, though obviously this wouldn’t be viable for tournaments it’d be helpful for people who play at home.

Small notches on the health bar to indicate guts scaling shifts seems like a good idea to me. Personally I always thought it’d be cool to have some characters that have different percentages for guts scaling, but that’s not relevant to this discussion :stuck_out_tongue:

Frankly there is A LOT that could be done to improve the presentation of SFV, mostly outside of the fight, but inside as well.

Besides being 1v1, what’s the problem?

It’s everything really, the loading times between everything is like if we were playing a game in the early 2000. Battlelounge works well though when it’s first to 10 etc, it goes real quick with re-match option. One of the only times this game seems to run fast. My PS4 sounds like it’s having an asthma attack, I have no idea why because the games about as technologically advanced as my battery operated shaver.

It must be the CFN working in the background I assume.

The biggest problem is that they don’t work. That’s a pretty big problem. One time I accepted an invitation and got thrown into some random french dudes lobby. Since yesterday I’ve been getting disconnected from my own lobby after 30 sec, and invitations from or to me gives the “lounge doesn’t exist” message. I haven’t tried joining random lobbies because if I wanted to play against randoms I’d just play ranked.

With such a solid foundation I’m sure the update to increase lobby size will go just swimmingly. What a great product.

Sounds like an isolated issue. Definitely not a good thing, but I personally haven’t had an issue with the lobbies since the server maintenance.

It sounds like you’re having the same problems people were having before the maintenance, after the maintenance.
