yeah many are incorporating it and some take it as far as they possibly can like Rising Thunder. it’s more the belief that execution = bad as a whole that irks me. it has it’s purpose. KoF is a game that can take it a little far for me personally, where there aren’t shortcuts that i’m aware of and the combos can get really long. there should be games and characters that have easy or hard execution. i don’t agree with the sweeping general thought that hard execution is the cancer of fighting games and easy inputs should be universal.
I have no problem with easy inputs per se… My problem is with easy strategies. Like all the scrub shit that goes on in sf5 that is actually a problem to counter. Perfect example is sweeps in this game… High priority and beat basically all other pokes but are unsafe on block… A scrubs dream basically. A no thought poke that beats everything with huge range that no good player is ever going to abuse, but every bottom feeder is going to make a huge part of their game. It’s basically, “scrub” the button. They actually use it to deadly effect as well. Use it to hit you when walking away from them and looking for the jump. Hit you to beat any poke you might have thrown out, use it as a threat to get you to block so they can do dash throw… Or more likely, cross you up.
The designers literally said lest take some beginner strategies that no expert would use, and make them better. And that kills it a fundamental level for players like me because I’m skirting that gulf between beginner and intermediate, though I would destroy these strategies in any other streetfighter game and easily be classified as a high level intermediate or lower level expert depending on the game. But in this stupid ass game I can’t even get to silver cause of the aforementioned things. Lag might be a hugely contributing factor and I won’t know till I play offline, but as far as now is concerned, I feel like this is one of the worst streetfighters I’ve ever played because of how much it shits on the would be expert… Taking away easy confirms… That beginners would never use anyways, and giving the game a very RPS like feel at lower levels with sweep beating pokes and jumps beating sweeps. Idk… The design and priority system and special move shit just makes the game very boring for me when I use chun. I have completely different time when I pick rashid at lower levels… I tear these fools apart. But then I play against a good player and rashid just dies. And then it’s time for chun since I play good players well with her… But in the end I feel like it’s just a bad game if that’s how it is. Longer range throws, 3 hit jab confirms and faster walkspeed is needed as are stronger better hitbox, faster AA’s… Every character should have AA’s like birdies cr.mp. Earn your jumpin. Not “earn your anti air” game seems to put the cart before the horse.
I’ll be honest, I blamed capcom for the issue of the servers that don’t work well but yesterday after seeing on steam something similar to what you just wrote, I went into the router’s settings (Technicolor - Fastweb) and I have simply activated the game mode.
Now I have’t “almost” problems to seek in ranked match or casual and lounge works well too!!
I can also send invitations entering the lounge without problems.
**However, it is normal that in the battle lounge I don’t gain or lose LP?
It works well in classified random match (LP) and random match (for FM)… **
Aiight, some bullshit is going on. BL is showing French, English and Japan flags with connection bars with NO problems at all.
But not ONE American flag. I am convinced if you’re in America, the game things you’re a foreigner.
There is no reason why I start a BL and in about 5-10 seconds I get nothing but foreigner players. Yet I have to wait almost 5 minutes for an American/Canadian.
This game is prejedice. Or the game found my CFN so fuckin Weeaboo it thinks I’m Japanese.
Right, but compare high level skullgirls to Rising Thunder! There’s definitely degrees - the difference between “an atomic command should be as simple as possible to execute - supers should be easy to do - but there should still be strings of inputs which require focus” and “nothing in the game should be hard to do”. You can have a game with very simple commands but brutally punishing timing requirements, or ridiculously loose timing and punishing inputs.
Also, I don’t know how in the shit this LP shit even works… I just played and lost to a mika that was 1800 LP. I was 1450. He gained 55 LP for the win… And I lost the same amount for the loss… How in the shit is that possible? Isn’t he supposed to gain less than I lose? At this level it’s always been I gain like 35 LP for a win and lose 66 for a loss… This shit is rigged.
I actually tried this. I literally squatted like a toad on my half of the screen and after 2 dps they stopped jumping. IN BRONZE! I’m telling you they’re learning… soon they will have human language…
They’re using a fudged system. For example, before 1k lp you only lose 25lp on a loss, but gain 55-65 for a win. This means if you go average you will move up into super/ultra bronze relatively quickly. I assume they have an uncertainty to the banding where they will make ±300lp count as being “equal” when they haven’t yet got a good fix on your skill level yet due to number of games? They might even have a hidden elo mmr working behind the scenes and the lp is an abstraction of it… the matchmaking is weird.
Can confirm that it kinda doesn’t work… Around about 65% of them learn to not jumpin. They just start to use “lag mixups” dash in throws, or jumps or sweeps. Or walk backwards and throw fireballs. They don’t engage in footsies per se, but they do mix up their scrub level tactics. They LOVE far ranged sweeps as well. The ones that can’t be sweep punished on block because they are to far away. This shot wouldn’t fly offline. But online with jitter and also opponents that you play one off, it works. And it’s just an endless procession of different people each one having SLIGHTLY different rhythm and take on the scrub level strategy.
It’s about as frustrating an experience as one can get. If all these matches were like first to 3 as an example it would be a much different story.
There should be an achievement for getting double P’d. Lol. Damn this Chun’s buttons beat all my shit and I got stunned so fast. That b+HP owning my Karin sweeps and shit.
Been using v reversals against set up v triggers. Sim, Rashid, Mika, and for Bison if he starts going ham with all his plus on block shit in his v trigger.
