The worst part about SFV is the netcode.
With how much you can mod the game, it would be salvageable if you could make a good balance mod, but the game is all but unplayable online.

Can’t we already do that? Pretty sure there is twitter vids of some guy modding I’m crazy shit to the game.
I would like them to revisit some stuff that they had on the game.
I think that iterating on them and actually expanding them the next SF could be really good.
I like the idea of VT, but i would like them to be both more imaginative with those who were lacking and implemented in a way that is not forced soley as a comeback mechanic.
Something akin to what the Heat Up system was on BattleFanatasia.
Wher for the cost of 1 super bar you could enter the super mode and gain new properties and moves.
I even think that the crush counter could be rewored as an intersting mechanic ala Fatal Counters on BB and UNICLR
If it was made by me, i would try to use the VT system as a substitute for EX moves.
That way we could get again some supers and better tools and add the craziest stuff on the VT, like Darkstalkers/BattleFantasia.
I always felt that Ex moves have become a clutch that takes away from the viability of some moves.
I guess I’m just different. A character can make me like a game more but if I don’t like how game plays nothing, not any character. There is not a character in creation that will make me like Tekken for example. When SF3, 80% of the cast was new. Yet I liked the game.
“Fixing” SFV by adding super long Combos… and these are longer than BB Combos, while dealing less damage.
Isn’t a good fix.
Even with the mod, hitting buttons doesn’t feel good, the simple act of pressing buttons fails.
There is no satisfication
You know it’s okay to accept that a game just isn’t what it should be down to its very core. Not everything is, or should be, salvageable.
I think is a thing that varies both from person to person and from game to game.
Sometimes you dont enjoy the game but a character is fun enough to at least you been enterteined at casual level, sometimes the cast and mechanics in paper should appeal to you, but when trying to play the game you just simply get bored/dislike it.
It kind of puts in perspective the notion that if SFV didnt have the SF name and the CPT it would have been abandoned very quickly, lol
I mean I guess, but that’s not always the case. Both MvCI and SFxT despite any inherent upsides to the game were both tossed away quickly. I think there’s more context that needs to be considered with SFV other than just “SF games are never abandoned no matter how good or terrible they are”.
You can, it’s how Mysterious Mod exists.
Good luck actually playing it with that garbage netcode though.
I said a good mod.
Morning, all. Time to fail my classes in the last week of school.
Just jump at the teacher and when they throw the tests at you, parry it back to them
My point was that if MM exists surely someone could mod SFV’s gameplay to be less dogshit
I played the Mysterious mod.
It’s flashy and fun but it’s not really Street Fighter, they went overkill on juggles. It does highlight how dry as hell SFV is though.
The idea is great and using V-bar to cancel from moves to further extend combos is nice, it also actually adds stuff to Juri that she should had in SFV live version :
Also, what if the patch tomorow will add some sort of “Omega mode” for SFV ,acting like the testing ground sfor SF 6 , much like Omega mode for SF4 was the testing ground for SFV. Yea i know it’s just the Laura costume,i know.
In all seriousness, I don’t mind air parries. Just having fun. Good luck on your tests. You’re a smart dude, I’m sure you will do well
Tests always go well, but assignments don’t. Thanks for the luck, I’ll utilise it.
In the case of those 2 games, we had the substitutes.
SF4 was still a thing, so SFxT didnt have a niche to fill, and yes, i know it was a tag game, but at its core it still played like a SF game.
MvCI was replaced by both DBFZ and BBTAG as both filled that niche in a way or another.
With SFV we didnt have a game that could take its place.
Add the whole CPT thing.
Which was also a factor or SFxT and MvCI, MvCI didnt had a pro tour to keep it alive.
And as soon as Capcom stopped trying with the game (like forcing it into evo and having it 1 year on the cpt iirc) the game was abandoned quickly.
My point was that if MM exists surely someone could mod SFV’s gameplay to be less dogshit
Yes, that’s why I said the game is salvageable. Not by Capcom, but we could just throw ideas around and come up with a good balance mod.
The thing is, who tf is playing it with that shitty netcode?
How complicated is that? I’m sure we could hugely improve the game by just adding and subtracting frames from shit
