He would be soon be a complete joke character after two more beatings and destruction from another SF character. Since all of his destruction were mostly canon.
His so close to the punching bag villain that would respawn and beat again. Unlike Rugal and Geese.
Minus Bison, Gen and Gouken only escape it because of MU which is a literally the only counter or narrative krytonite to it SGS. If Akuma would die after that with two failures it’s done.
While Bison future was eternally meant to be a living punching bag to be revive and die repeatedly as long SF exist. Maybe next time not at the hands of Ryu. He was desperate in finding substitute body and most of them even teenagers resist him and he mostly always failed to over powered. His like the mojo dojo of sf. lol
That’s the good thing that Capcom did in SF4 narrative they analyze well the story in a safer route having SF4 aftermath videos than SFV which is another version of alpha 3 story…
SFV story is more on pleasing the fandom than being safe with the brands future. So it ends with problems.
Well if KoFXIV was the Setup Rugal should be alive again.
It’s also nice of SnK to just bring him back every Dreammatch to be Rugal again and make people suffer who just want to finish Arcade Mode.
“Oh you moved, let me DP for half your healthbar real quick.”
Geese had been back multiple in some SNK titles but he isn’t like as much as Bison as the more he is revived the more he became a joke.
In SFV cinematic mode Bison tries to speak like Seth in his final speech at Ryu is so cringe. Seth did it better because he is artificially engineered that makes him appropriate to speak like that in the SF OVA ties that bind.
Gill is mostly more candidate as a villain punching bag because of the Resurrection ability but it’s more that Bison is the recurring one that embodiment of being the punching bag villain. lol
Some even fantasize Bison to be the embodiment of all evil in SF universe or some kind of a demon. SO that makes him more of a Joke to be beaten countless times by mortals.
There is a reason Akuma’s Second Impact and Third Strike endings show him mastering killing techniques that circumvent a Mu defense. Mu isn’t going to protect you from an attack that splits Ayers Rock or one that raises a sunken ship from the sea floor while bisecting it.
Guess I’ll be odd man out but I find MK11 fun to watch. I also enjoy watching Injustice.
I found the modern KoFs boring to watch. A lot of what I see from XIII and XIV boils down to whoever can land their HD combo first wins the round after the someone loses a starter character.
SF Universe is so cringe and bad.
Since there is no consistency, you can’t take anything serious.
Doesn’t help that Capcom retconns everything the moment they’re done showing it out their front door.
And they care 0 about their own characters.
I’ll take it over the absolute cluster fuck that is BlazBlue story. The time travel nonsense, needing to follow the mangas and light novels to know who some characters are, the high level amounts of bullshit that surrounds the game’s main trio. I need a flowchart to even gasp what’s happening. That game narrative is a complexity complex.
Aren’t most fighting game stories like this more or less this?
UNI has a wacky story, GG’s is pretty convoluted, Tekken’s is just silly at this point, Soulcalibur hit the hard reset after the wackness that was V, KoF has all sorts of crazy…
Even Virtua Fighter- the one fanchise that could just be a big tournament and it would totally work, ventured into big shiny metal goo moms at one point.
MK, I’ve heard, put a lot of eggs in the story basket, but I’ve only heard from FGC types that it’s good, and I don’t trust y’all wildin’, deep-lore-researching psychos .
