I’m already expecting thing in the future story to be more meh and loosely later on… Im just waiting how the story of SF get’s ridiculous later because of fans wanting weird and wacky stuff. That would lead it to a disaster since people are wanting joke fighting style in SF.

Seriously it’s extremly simple once you stop trying to think about whats happening.
BBCT and CS are Time Loops were Ragna has to break the Loop, the Loop repeats itself till he does.
How does he do this? Noel/Lambda safe him, cause the Murakumos are anomalys that can act outside of the Time loops.
CP has 2 Storys, the one with Azrael and Sector 7 and the one with Ragna,Jin,Noel and the Emperor with her World Ending Super Creature.
The Azrael one is just a Tournament Arc with Smug Cat Professor in the back.
The one sorrounding the main 3 is basically, that they have to destroy the emperors super creature and Tsubaki is a retard. Also Nu is there and is now weak, duo to Relius being Relius and doing things to say “hm interesting”.
Story ends with the Super Creature defeated, Ragna saving Nu, Nu waking up and stabbing Ragna, cause she’s Nu and Azrael being trapped in another dimension, cause smug cat professor is smarter than a caveman.
CF has crazy Witch Mom and smug Emperor try to destroy the world in their own ways.
Crazy witch mom, wants to destroy god, to stop the timeloops, they’re back btw. cause Ragna isn’t allowed to fuck up again and Ragna not being Ryu Ex-Machina levels of invincible with 50 layers of plot armor, fails a couple of times.
He then decides that he has to assert Dominance and T-Poses over the rest of the cast.
Gods Secretary, then beams Ragna, Jin and Noel to the Gate, where they have to fight the OC of a 14 year old who, for some reason, is popular amonst SF player, maybe because he looks like the edgy OC of a 14 year old.
They beat Buff Snake man and Ragna has a duel with not buff snake man.
He proceeds to kill not buff snake man and replaces God with himself as new god.
Creating his new world.
After that, the Murakumos life in a church in peace, Jin continues to be a asshole, Tsubaki continues to be a Psychopath, and Sector 7 keeps smug cat professor as head, cause smug cat professor was the real hero of the story all along.
Also if you want a easy Story, here is the entire plot of Dead or Alive:
Tournament Starts. Kazumi or her dumb Brother enter and reach somehow the Villian, they lose to the Villian and Hayabusa has to come and save their ass.

Fighting game stories just need to be simple and not something that the story revolves the world is at stake something. Making stories centered to new characters and few relevant one characters for that event and journey of a new character. Is better. Slowly but surely and safe.
But who cares anyway that’s not how the fandom wants anyway. To be honest I like the Juri OVA that’s more like better SF story few characters. Then all about knowing what happening in that very time and understanding a new character.
Kingdom Hearts might be the most basic bitch ass Story I’ve ever read.
It just looks complicated, cause there are 50 games and all throw big names at you.
The entire plot is a recycled from a myth in FFXII and even that wasn’t complex, since it’s not even a full dokument to read in the game.

Nah, get outta here with this garbage. Why can’t FGs have stories more complex than a basic porn plot?
Xrd did fairly well, despite being built on a convoluted foundation.
BB’s biggest problem really is the whole “You kinda need to read Phase Shift to understand a couple key plot points.” The rest is fairly simple.
What messes up most FG stories is how they cram non-canon trash in it for filler and expect it to be coherent, not to mention the fumbling with the storytelling media itself.
Take for example SFV’s Arcade Mode.
They went the extra mile to cover every previous canon game with the characters available in V.
The result? It didn’t fucking matter anyway because you got blatantly non-canon shit muddling everything anyway like Necalli’s ending where he actually wins against Ryu and goes on a devouring spree instead of showing just wtf happened to him after he got turned into a puddle of goo by Ryu’s VT2 counter.
Now you get actually interesting things like Sagat’s ending but can’t know whether or not it’s canon or SF3 still being messy because pretty much nothing on its endings are canon or relevant.
FG stories are bad because 90% of the time they aren’t stories. They are just a list of excuses for the characters to fight, everything else be damned.
Consistency and actual care will make a good story.
Of course you will still have people who don’t pay attention or can’t read and of course the guy who yells weeb shit and now thinks he’s cool.
But in the end, Xrds Story was great. it also had Extra Story 3 in Rev2, what makes it the best game ever.
Also I haven’t read the Phase Shift Novels. I just know they’re mainly about the actual 6th Hero (yes Terumi wasn’t one of them), Bloodedge.
And they explain apparently a lot of stuff left out in the games, like the reason why Celica is Plot important.
Or why Ragna calls Nine a goodhearted Person with a habit to step on people.
I just don’t understand why FGs need a story more than “Tournament, FIGHT”
FGs have always put a lot of thought and effort into character design. Just give people an interesting back story for why they want to win the tournament, and boom, that should be enough.
I don’t understand why every FG needs to have a big evil guy that laughs a lot while standing in a purple fart cloud with his palms pointed up and his fingers curled.
Personally, the only FG story I could give a damn about are MK’s, but that’s because the Midway stories were interesting and I care more about the characters because it was one of my favourite franchises as a kid/teen.
The NRS ones (MK9 to 11) are entertaining for the most part, but they have a bunch of plot-holes, and are brought down by terrible retcons and sometimes dumb plot armour (especially with MKX, which was the worst of the three imo).
Truthfully, i think the Aftermath expansion story is their best one. My only issue with it is what they did to sindel, but I’m starting to believe she’s still under Quan Chi’s MK3 curse (and there’s reasons why she could still be).
Anyways, i went off there, lol, but yeah, i couldn’t give a damn about SFs or GGs story unless it has unlockables… Actually MVCI’s story was great in how laughably terrible it was.
