Despite being a sick action game MGR usually seems to piss people off for whatever reason so, I rarely bring it up.
Raiden in MGS2: The biggest soft boiled egg in the known universe,
Raiden in MGR: RULES OF NATURE!! (loses arm) Not again! throws Metal Gear, Godlike OST for a classic 8 hour experience. I’m walking on rockets wuhu! survives falling from a Skyscraper and shrugs it off,epic Samurai duel with epic Samurai dude, throws another Metal Gear, Armstrong speeches, Armstrong fights.

So, was the first MGS game on the playstation just bad story wise?
It’s the only one I played and while I remember thfe game play fondly I didn’t really fall in love with the story, hell I barely even remember it, and it certainly didn’t make me want to follow the series, as I never touched the franchise ever again.
None of the Metal Gear games are particular master classes in story. They do just enough to keep you moving and that’s about it.

A lot of people usually like the 1st one the most for the story. The gameplay definitely didn’t age well. I didn’t really get into the series until subsistence because it added a 3rd person view. Now its one of my favorite series of all time.
Story wise, I think the overarching story of the whole series is definitely solid but it’s the characters that really make you love the games. The plot twists are fun too

MK11’s Kombat League is nerve racking. It reminds me of Ranked SFV in that way, except you don’t seem to lose to bullshit as much and the netcode is far superior. I really can see me playing this for a while… I just need to learn how to calm down when there’s virtual points on the line before I get a heart attack

Have you fought many Kabals, Scorpions or Erron Blacks yet? There’s a lot in the move-sets of some of the characters in that game that I would specifically describe as “bullshit.”
