I could see G, Sethette, Kolin, Menat and Zeku coming back. They seem like they were well received by people.
I wouldn’t mind seeing Rashid again too. I think a lot of his more negative aspects were because he played SFV the best. Maybe in a new engine his tools wouldn’t be as obnoxious. Because I genuinely like his character and think he’s cool.
So many of them have legit unlikeable shit to them that its hard to ask for it back. I don’t want to see Rashid, Abigail, G, Menat and the design decisions that lead to other characters being good in other games.
Thinking about it, SF5 is full of people I don’t want to see in other games. That’s kind of impressive TBH.
Weird. That’s pretty much how I felt about the SFIV newcomers. None of em really did anything for me. I kinda like C. Viper’s design and Abel was kinda cute but that’s about it
I am still surprised old man Gouken did not make it into SF5.
They went through all the trouble and retconned his death only to use him in Ryu’s SFV story a bit ? True waste of potential.

SF4 newcomers, for better or worse, did new things. C.Viper had her cancels and SJC nonsense combos; Hakan the first anime gauge on a special; Juri had the negative edge specials; Abel had the dash cancelable normal with foward mk etc.
There’s a lot of new stuff in the SF4 newcomers. SF5 newcomers are just full of new stuff that’s all stupid. Rashid, Abigail, G, Laura, Menat etc. You go down the line those characters don’t win off of having solid ass tools, they win because they gotta do some stupid shit to function. Think the big criminal in the “I need to be dumb to function” newcomer in SF4 was El Fuerte.
SF5 is just full of goofy El Fuerte nonsense where its gotta be stupid to be good.
If Viper is added in Season 5 and plays even remotely close to what she did in SF4 in SFV’s meta people are gonna remember how “fun” it was to get knocked down into burn kick vortex.
She is a cool character visually but i stand by what i said that her gameplay was pure cancer. Not Fuerte levels of dumb but she definitely got a pass cause she had boobs.
What if Fuerte returns? and his the character Kenny Omega is supposed to cosplay?

I would honestly be very surprised if Fuerte is ever used in a SF game ever again.But if by any chance they add him, this further motivates me not to reinstall the game again.

Nash was a so popular character and liked that had more cameo and crossover than guile but they killed him again a terrible choices
Laura is the best and should be a lock in every game from now on.
Falke and Kolin have gigantic asses and are fairly unique. They get a pass too.

Nah, Gouken at least did what he was supposed to do and taught Ryu some new tech and how to not be edgy.
Nash was finally brought back to properly end his and Guile’s arc and when the two met in Story it was the most awkward shit because they didn’t even really speak to each other.
Nash was truly wasted. Other M-tier writing.
Necalli was probably the biggest wet fart of the game. It’s clear he was supposed to be a big deal in the story, but nobody really liked him and hardly anyone plays him. Most of the DLC newcomers I feel deserve to come back in some form with altered move sets. I’d like to see Falke appear without the notion of “easy inputs” artificially handicapping how good they allow her to be.
Necalli was the saddest thing, they hyped him up to be this Pillar Man that is the real threat of the whole story and he does absolutely nothing but job to everyone.
Man even lost his shine in the intro cutscene.
Guess I should’ve expected it but I’m genuinely surprised at the reception to newcomers. For the majority, I actually really like their designs or are just neutral to them and only hate like two of them. Super unpopular opinion but FANG was my favorite of the group. He it all the right buttons for me, except for gameplay because I can’t do charge characters
As for how stupid it is to fight against them, I feel like that for everyone in this game so that doesn’t matter to me.
Not only did Necalli job to everyone, his actual gameplay is as stock standard as you can possibly get.
