The dancing thing is a running gag in all that dudes videos. I was confused by it at first, now it just makes me laugh. There is usually some sort of Naruto run easter egg in all his videos too.

A lot of FGC communities have a bias for their game. This isn’t something that only follows SF players in the states. Try talking most Tekken players into playing any other 3d fighter lol.

SF players aren’t the only ones that do it. Talk to GG players that hate Xrd and onwards. Tekken players that call DOA or SC garbage. Just about any average air dasher stan that hates anything not anime and 3d fighters are dirt beneath them.

I only trash on SFV tho (and NRS games).
I would need valid reasons to do this to other games. But I never had a Uni player walk up to me and tell me my game sucks, because it’s not in the Evo Lineup.
Uni players don’t have much of a leg to stand on when the game they play is already ass.

For real, the GG community here hates Xrd, won’t touch it with a ten foot pole. I’ve only seen it played once at a local and it was for a joke gimmicky tournament. One guy told me he really likes Xrd and plays it all the time and followed up with “just don’t bring it up with anyone, aight? I’m tired of being clowned for it”

Homie, I feel like you’re living in the echo chamber that is the internet. No one talks like that IRL. If you bring a set-up to a local and wanna play whatever game you brought, only a true asshole would say “This game never mainstaged EVO, get the fuck outta here!!”
People might say shit like this if a game goes over and holds up their game’s tournament, but in that situation you make any excuse to trash the game cause you’re tired of waiting.

It’s weird around here. I’ve got mad respect for the GG crew. They play what they like and don’t ever mention the stuff that they don’t.
Dude’s still going hard on VSav, and if you ask them if they want a new one they usually say “Na, I like this one and don’t want to start over”

If you look at japan a lot of their players are multi game players and good at all of them.
I mean it’s understandable, big country, a lot of distance between places, you adopt what your community plays and stick to it. Doesn’t mean it’s not an asinine concept.
Edit: as for the Tekken crowd, they never really had one of their games being leagues worst than the competition, Capcom players do right about fucking now.

I also never had any sort of this experience, granted most locals I went to were in Netherlands, Denmark and further south in germany.
But a lot of the people here play multiple games, most of the time one main game and multiple sidegames just for fun.
I’ve also talked with lots of people, who swapped games, cause of a certain thing.
The only thing that would resemble legit “hate” towards another game, came from BB players towards BBTag and they’re mostly mad that TOs treat BBTag as a sequel instead of the spin-off it is.
