Iām enjoying SC6. I think reversal edge is a shit mechanic that did the exact opposite of what it set out to do, but the critical blow mechanic (or whatever itās called) is fantastic. The movementās fine and you can play the game in multiple ways and styles. And Seong Mina is dumb AF and definitely my kind of character. Itās overall really enjoyable.
I donāt play it that much but thatās mainly just that itās not the main game in my community. Iām usually down for it when someone asks though.

Sc6 movement speed is pretty amazing. I always forget to talk about it when speaking on the game. But itās really fast pace

The example you give of adding a āG tierā for a truly abysmal character itself shows acknowledgement that definitions shift and change with time. It is an example of someone creating a brand new lowest tier because that person feels the existing lowest tier doesnāt truly encompass how low tier a particular character is.
The letter grade system for tiers was a choice of convenience, it gave people a fixed length system where the labels already carried vague known meaning. āA-tierā implied an inherent measure of quality that āTier 2 (of 5)ā didnāt carry. The fixed length gave you room to divide a standard (now small) roster into meaningful categories, ending the silliness where one person might divide 12 characters across 10 tiers while another might divide the same 12 characters across 3 tiers.
But the letter system was always going to develop issues as it was applied to more games. Functionally, it maps an arbitrarily chosen (hopefully meaningful) segment of an effectively unbounded scale to a fixed five tier system. Define the tiers strictly and you end up with a system that just doesnāt give useful results for some games. Define the tiers loosely and you begin to lose the inherent meanings of the labels. As roster sizes increase, particularly with characters of widely different ability, five tiers may no longer be enough to meaningfully divide the roster. (Which is how weāve ended up with +, -, SS, God, āBrokenā, and the like.)
On a side note: People canāt even fully agree on what the letter grade system really means even within schools.

Iām not sure how much time Iāll have for games for the next few weeks/months.
I am 1 of 3 project managers for a big company and I was already struggling keeping up with my workload and just found out that one of my colleagues is no longer with the company, so this 50% workload is going to crush me.
Iāll play 3S/ST with you guys for fun and will dabble with MVC to lab fun combos when I have time, but learning a new game (or taking an existing one seriously) is probably out of the question right now
