The Street Calibur 5 Lounge: The Soul Burns But not as Hard as the FGC is Burning

I’ll be back later. Ggs

You’re high horse is bugging me, man. Don’t act like Germany doesn’t have racism and issues that revolve around race and nationality.

I know as a fact from my time there, and the fact that my brother lived there for years and currently lives in Austria.

The way a lot of the German’s I met talk about the Turks was pretty gross. I was there for the 2010 World Cup and a lot of Germans told me “when he plays well, Özil is a German. When he plays poorly, he’s a dirty Turk.”

This gets worse in the east regions.
It has reasons, like real bad reasons. I don’t want to open this can of worms, but we have a problem with immigrants and turkish familys a lot.
And they’re actually kinda deserve what they get.

Now most people I know who would fall into this “turk” category are good people, like real good people. Same with the ones I went to school with. They’re open about their culture and the likes, helpfull all that stuff.

And then you have the bad examples.
They can’t speak german, but life in germany and if they can, it’s often very very poorly. A lot of them, don’t go to work and get HartzIV (basically money from the state to ensure they don’t starve to death on the streets and have a roof over their heads, what is another can of worms I don’t want to touch.)
And they mostly act aggresive and disrespectfull.

The eastern regions (and especially one Area in Berlin, Neu-Köln) are one of the main reasons why this stuff still exists. Of course there are still people who believe that these people don’t belong here… all of them, despite most of the turkish familys living in germany do this for Generations now.
There was a massive influx of turkish immigrants after the War.
It’s complicated.

Generaly speaking can’t say I experienced much of this personaliy.
And the whole Özil thing was also in the news a lot… and he didn’t help with defending himself with another can of worms I don’t want to touch.

But you’re willing to bust through the BLM can of worms like you’re the Kool-Aid Man.

That stuff still makes no sense to me.
But at this point the entire country makes no sense to me.
I stay within my borders and only sail around the coast in the local viking ships.

Hopefully ill be able to join tomorrows SC6 session

I did some labbing the other day for the first time in a long time. The things Azwel can get in Soul Charge are just stupid. Free axe B+K all day

I think everyone has some really stupid shit during sc.
Like Astaroth gains access to some unlockables that have practical setups.
Zasalamael just styles on you, etc, etc.

Traumas aside (Y’all don’t wanna be up almost 3am because you’re TOing an online tournament and the whole Top 4 were Azwel mirrors.) I actually like Azwel.

Character is just hella silly and he hams it up to match. Retarded af, but unlike 2B, he’s funny.

I think i am gonna photocopy the Millia costume for Talim, btw.

There’s definitely no S character in SF5. Dudes want to use that terminology because old school.

S is reserved for broken for me. If you’re putting S+ on lists these days you’re Gona get an electric shock when a real S character gets put in.

Soul charge makes almost every character really dumb while they have it up. Lots of shit turns into break attacks, it stops the clock so you can come back even with a time deficit, it gets you out of mixups on activation its just a really good use of meter

Supers, soul attacks, and meter GI are all really good but soul charge is the easiest to just pop and change the way the match is going most of the time. I’m not familiar with most of the casts soul attacks, but they are also p good. Tira for example, gets a 50/50 if her soul attack hits and if that mixup hits it goes into a LH combo

Fixed.

It’s like a kid trying to sound cool by doing stuff adults do but they botch it.

If a real S+ character ever dropped in V, people would go ballistic. S2 Rog almost had grown men crying, imagine them dealing with ST Akuma.

Is something i hate about many tier lists those days.
The people making them ususally dont understand the reasoning of why the you put a Caharacter on S to F categories.

Saying that.
S, doesnt mean the char is broken, but that most if not all its matchups are favorable to it.
With S+ being the one reserved for chars where all of its matchups are favorable and the majority are considered 7:3 in their favor.

I miss the days where tierlists were made by using matchup charts based on data, instead of being made on hunches and feelings.

Racism is everywhere, it just changes the way it looks and how it’s expressed depending on the region and its history. The United States have developed their own unique kind of racism and racial issues due to their particular history with slavery, having a large black minority living alongside the white population, the particular culture that rose around slave-owning in the South, and then on top of that the racial issues derived from the conquest of native lands and the one reserved for various kinds of immigrants (Asians, but also Europeans in some cases), because of this the issue of racism in America is particularly complex.

In Europe there hasn’t been as much mixing and contact between wildly different ethnic groups, so racism tends to be expressed in more simplistic ways like xenophobia, distrust of foreigners and immigrants and so on, rather than all the particular stuff that you see in American racism (for example, blackface isn’t really something that’s thought about at all, at least here in Italy. I recall there was a TV show on national television some time ago that was about imitating celebrities, and at some point they definitely pulled off a blackface for a black American singer or something, but obviously there was no racist intent there, the whole significance of blackface as it is understood in America is lost over here).

Racism definitely exists in Europe, it just tends to be directed at whoever is the current big immigration group: when I was a kid there was a lot of distrust for Eastern Europeans emigrating from Romania, Poland, Ukraine and other Eastern European countries, then Eastern European countries got better and the main victim of xenophobia became Arabs and African immigrants who are usually muslims, especially after 9/11. Black people aren’t specifically targeted, but they inevitably stand out in mostly white countries like Europe and they end up being kinda color-coded (pun intended) as foreigners, even though there are nowadays black people who are native Italians, Germans and so on.

At least, that’s how I’ve perceived things working here in Europe.
