Still got Bloodstained to play when Hollow Knight is done. And I have a SNES Mini here too.
But thatâs the point of cabin trips, isnât it? I canât play FGs / multiplayer online in general, so I get to finish all the games in my console backlog.

Daily reminder that Hollow Knight, probably one of the best metroidvania ever made, was made by three guys in their basement in Australia with the support of a kickstarter and it costs $15.
Meanwhile, AAA developers spend millions of dollars with half of them going into marketing, have hundreds of employees, induce PTSD into said employees by forcing them to watch real gore shit to make sure that the gore in-game looks all nice and swell (and in MK11âs case it actually looks less impressive compared to X), abuse said employees by forcing them into crunch so that they can get all the nice shitty useless details like horse balls reacting to heat right, their games cost $60 to $70 without considering potential DLC/microtransations/deluxe editions and whatnot, and then at the end of it the games themselves arenât even that good.
But, on the bright side of things, I found a Twitter artists that imitates Cutesexyrobuttsâ style really well, so things kinda balance out decently in the end:

Yeah, Super Metroid is the only Metroidvania I can think of that Iâd clearly place over it. And thatâs saying a lot because I love Super Metroid.
I think I got stuck in HK about a year back and a bunch of other stuff happened so I forgot about it for a while. Glad I picked it up again now, I got un-stuck pretty fast. Hornetâs beating my ass right now and Iâm having a great time.

Having played both Super Metroid and Castlevania SOTN back when each was released, I can confirm this. SOTN (and by extension Bloodstained ROTN) has better replay value though due to all the tons of equipment (and crafting & villager sidequests in ROTN).
You got through SM by just finding energy tanks and face-taking a lot of bosses. Got through SOTN by leveling up experience points and face-tanking a lot of bosses. Not so with Hollow Knight. Git gud or git out.

What an egoistic prick, she could solve world hunger all by herself and instead she decides to waste time on a beach. 
Hollow Knight is amazing but really different from Super Metroid in a lot of different ways. Hell the amount of computational space they could use to make the game being one of them.
Some of the bosses in Hollow Knight were poorly made. The big one being the big rock laser guy. That was literally the hardest boss in the game purely because he just did random shit with no rhyme or reason. I died an insane amount of times to that just because it was literally a dude spazzing out doing random stuff that dealt too much damage.
Yeah, they nailed the difficulty in HK imo. There arenât often I have to make multiple attempts on bosses in this genre. Last time I died this much in a Metroidvania was Metroid Fusion.
Itsâ like everything is all of a sudden that everyone would drag others to oblivion or some skeleton in the closet being exposed itâs like a terrible era.
